We should make the executives and directors of the company criminally responsible. We don’t hold the manufacturer of a knife responsible if someone uses it to stab someone, because a knife doesn’t know any better.

But a product that’s capable of understanding what nudes are, can be made to recognize when it’s been asked to produce them and refuse.

What exactly are we doing here? Why is a supposedly liberal government, one that prides itself on ‚protecting Canadians‘ and talks so damn much about how its the sane & steady alternative, so unwilling to challenge foreign tech companies who are actively harming us?

They even put in a Minister of Protecting Techbros, Evan Solomon, a vapid and useless position headed up by a literal media personality. They are selling us out. They are on board for turning us into a feudal society run by Musk, Thiel, and co. We can’t even get them to act on combatting CSAM anymore.
