This is a really nice story that the grandmother is able to do this, but in a sane society with reasonable healthcare, an 81-year-old wouldn’t need to work to pay for her grandson’s treatment. I hope that with his cancer in remission they’re able to use some of this money to go on vacation and enjoy themselves.

happy he’s getting treatment but the fact a post retirement age person needs to do this just to get essential care, not even luxuries, is absurd. cancer treatment should be free.

While heartwarming, the headline of “grandma forced to play video games to get medical care for grandson” just doesn’t have the same ring to it. :/

What a great, positive story! 🙂

Thanks, Reddit! This is a nice break from the usual „OMG! EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE AND WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!“ Reddit content.

    5. Having no universal healthcare is nothing more than the actual capitalization of human suffering.

Trump said he would fix healthcare and he has made it worse and is spending his time on a golden ballroom so he can party on our dime while crushing Americans with rampant inflation and goons rampaging through our peaceful cities. He is not just a corrupt, narcissistic felon, he is really lazy.

Finally a Yourube personality that I can get behind. My kids love watching Minecraft on YT, and I will have them watch her in stead of Preston and Brianna who are absolutely driving me mad

    8. Would never ever click a Minecraft video I watched a rimworld playthrough once to get some tips and somehow that got me constant Minecraft videos in my recommendations for months.

I ended up just blocking every single channel completely because nothing else worked.

Most other countries, “81 year old grandma makes cookies for grandson, who beat cancer.”
