The continuing failure to advance the Lee to See one is my big disappointment. Most of it is there, and there’s just a few pinch points. If you were aggressive you could nearly declare it done, just to a lower standard than would be ideal.

You’ve a greenway through Ballincollig Regional Park. You’ve a bit of a break down to the Straight Road (somewhat shared space in parts but not the worst). That has shared space paths along about 2/3rds of its length. You then have the Lee Fields, which has a decent greenway through parts of it.

Then you have mostly greenway/cycle track/shared space/cycle priority streets along Mardyke Walk in through town along Popes Quay and Patricks Quay, across by Parnell street and out towards the Marina. Marina then is high quality greenway most of the way to Passage. You’ve a gap then to more or less Carrigaline, but then greenway to Crosshaven.

You’re like 95% of the way there without doing a tap!

    2. If the Nimbys from Carlingford could read, they would be very upset right now

Now do the immensely satisfying thing and link them all up Ireland……

    4. The Royal Canal Greenway isn’t really passable on a bike for much of the year between Clonsilla/Coolmine and Castleknock.

This is fantastic, and I hope we continue to expand and connect but if I had to chose between greenways and railways, it would be the latter.

I really wish they would just finish the Royal Canal Greenway, absolutely ridiculous that a few arseholes can hold something up for so long.

I was only looking for a map like this yesterday. You should get the folk who run the Greenway site to hire you to make graphics for them, because there’s nothing like this on their site

    8. Dungarvan to Mallow at planning/ consultation.

Waterford C&CC have said they’ll go ahead with Dungarvan to Lismore section even if Cork CC doesn’t have the balls to push on with their bit.

    9. The Passage West one isn’t right (or alternatively is missing the Blackrock to Rochestown section). You can cycle from Passage West to Pairc Ui Chaoimh without mixing with road traffic.

    10. Wicklow to greystones greenaway preferred route was just announced today with some more consultations coming soon. Hopefully I’ll still be able to ride a bike by time its built, 37 now so should be done before I’m 60

Waterways Ireland map of the greenways doesn’t include the most recent updates. Nice one lads.

There’s one from Dunkettle to Carrigtwohil not on this map, but that might be an Active Travel Route so not included.

There’s supposed to be one linking Youghal to Dungarvan, I was at the public meetings for those in 2024. Lots of II types there yelling about nonsense, but overwhelming majority in support.
