Iran International reports that at least 12,000 people were killed during a nationwide crackdown on protests in Iran, mainly during two nights.

The outlet says the killings were organized, largely carried out by the Revolutionary Guard and Basij, and allegedly ordered at the highest levels of the Iranian leadership, while most victims were young people.
