Oklahoma, Missouri and West Virginia having Democrat governors and California having a Republican seems completely impossible these days.

Mike Beebe of Arkansas was serving as as Democrat when Obama took office in 2009

Red state/blue states is a misnomer and not set in stone at all. Very few states have had one party trifectas for 3 decades (about a human generation roughly).

  4. A lot of Obama supporters really dont like it when you mention how 2010 and 2014 went. words of hope and change only go so far when you literally are the president but recovery is slow and doesn’t account for anxieties of slow recovery. plus the bailouts as well alienated the left and galvanized the tea party movement.

    Schwarzenegger was hardly a republican.

I mean maybe fiscally conservative but that’s about it

Indiana being red in that huge sea of blue is kinda funny, but also not surprising.

Edit: Welp, the three governors prior to the Republican in office at this point (Mitch Daniels) were all Democrats, so they haven’t been red as long as I imagined. They’re up to 4 straight GOP governors, though.
