      London as is already has an extremely low murder rate averaging 0.8-1.2 per 100,000 (5-10x safer than my city) this is genuinely great news

      To anyone who lives in London or visits often, this will not be a surprise. In fact, the only people it will be a surprise to are those that religiously believe right-leaning media. It has convinced them that London is genuinely an unsafe please to be. The reality is so different, and it’s honestly one of the nicest cities to visit in the world. Albeit VERY expensive.

      While london surely is safer than the internet makes it out to be, I don’t believe these numbers at all having lived in a lot of places in addition to london.

      Okay so genuine question: are the stabbings in London also low compared to how they are represented in the media? I understand that like in every big city if you go to a dangerous neighborhood the chances of getting stabbed or robbed are higher, but you’d think everybody in London did some kind of miniature fencing given how often you see it mentioned, partly as a meme and partly as a real thing lol
