    I mean immigration to Japan is not that attractive already especially for highly skilled and still they are seeing themselves as superior… I don’t know what makes them think they can attract people other than a few weebos or people from poor countries with low tier jobs to come to Japan. They compare themselves to USA, yet even Japanese are trying to run away from Japan nowadays. If they can increase the salaries at least to the European levels without overtime it will make sense. Their income per capita is high only because everyone do work overtime… This is not logical… Italians reach that GDP per capita without overtime and have a pretty chill work environment… I am not even talking about toxic bosses and friendships and gossips such that you don’t want to make any friends from that workplace…
    Eve Vietnamese are not willing to work in Japan that much anymore due to weak yen and developments in Viet economy…

  3. The salaries are just not competitive, and lets be honest skilled workers in south east asia would want to go to Australia which not only has better salary but lower friction due to not needing to learn the language anymore.
