Das Tagebuch meines Papas aus dem Jahr 1939, er lebte in Finnland, wanderte aber im Erwachsenenalter nach Kanada aus. Er wäre zu dieser Zeit ein Kind gewesen, etwa 12 Jahre alt? Er ist 2012 verstorben, aber meine Familie hat das gefunden. Ich kann nicht sehr gut Finnisch lesen, aber das sind einige Bilder des Tagebuchs. Sie sind wahrscheinlich nicht in Ordnung.

Goodness me, this looks so much like my Mummi’s hand writing. Born in Finnish Karelia in the 1920’s.
Definitely a child’s handwriting. I wrote exactly like this when I was about ten years old, same style. Looks like he’s written down what news he’s hearing over the radio and from evacuated people. Some pages have time stamps ( 9th day 11th day).
It’s mostly listing the amount of deaths, wounded, equipment etc.
Hold on to that one, a very sentimental piece of history for your family!
He has listed stats concerning the war, stuff like deaths, enemy aircrafts, tanks…very grim and yet fascianating!
