It is pretty infuriating that we keep buying from the Russians and then give money to Ukraine to help them defend themselves. The second part i don’t have a problem with but it does seem rather counter productive.
A small group of greedy a-holes have made us depended on the bad guys of the world.
The windmills must be broken and the sun blocked by the snow. That’s another point to Net Zero 😂
While this is unfortunately true, it also seems to be a necessary evil until local energy infrastructure is built to supply the continent with energy at prices the population will tolerate without rioting. These massive shifts take time.
It’s going to be the same if the US eventually invades Greenland. Everyone is still going to be on Reddit, Google, and buying American stuff until an alternative is developed years down the line.
Globalisation always had its risks, and now we’re getting a taste of them.
I’m in awe
Well, I can at least find some justification for buying energy (and a slow decline it) — to keep production running, to prevent the economy from collapsing, to be able to support Ukraine, and all that.
But how the hell did Europe last year buy seafood from Russia for eight hundred-something million euros?
And what other goods are still being bought for billions? That’s not gas. It’s fish. Can’t we seriously buy damn fish anywhere else in the world 😡
Europe is our enemy, they keep feeding the Russian war machine, I wonder if they have kompromat on European leaders, is what you’d hear if the Americans were doing this.
Germany should look into bringing up their nuclear plants again. Was a big mistake to take them offline.
