Ugh. Enough with the podcasts already. Not everyone needs one. In fact, the vast majority of our society shouldn’t have one

She deserves it, her podcast is such a good time (hang), and it’s nice to see the Golden Globes expanding and adjusting their categories.

It’s like they made it up to justify still doing this archaic ritual every year.

    5. I really enjoy her podcast. It’s usually such a fun respite from the real world.

Love her podcast and Conan O’Brian’s as well.
But once celebrities started podcasts, the smaller podcasts are suddenly competing with the Hollywood machine! I don’t know how I feel about it. But, these podcasts are entertaining.

There is nothing more predictable that the most famous person in this category getting this award

    8. Personally I’m getting a bit fed up with all these „celebrities talking to other celebrities, who also usually is their close friend“ kind of podcasts. Its fun sure, but do they really say anything important? Not really. I get it could be an escape from things (real life) but I rather spend my time listing to someone talking to expert on a interesting subject, not one famous person talking to another famous person about the latest cool party they been or about another mutual friend who also happens to be famous.

    9. I just think it really sucks that the candidates consisted only of celebrities talk shows and *NPR*.

    10. They nominated 6 podcasts 🤣🤣

Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard (Amazon Music)

      Call Her Daddy (Spotify)

Good Hang with Amy Poehler (Spotify/The Ringer)

      The Mel Robbins Podcast (SiriusXM)

      SmartLess (SiriusXM)

      Up First (NPR)

The trend of all these celebrities having a podcast has gotten tiresome, but Amy’s has actually turned out to be one of the better ones. Happy for her and Good Hang.

There are so many objectively better and more listened to, not celebrity related, podcasts. Maybe I don’t understand who qualifies for the award but this sounds like huffing their own farts. No shade to Amy

I mean, this year Marc Maron wrapped up an amazing 16yr run and basically was a founder to the medium but sure Amy’s is a good time too.

    14. I think this bothers me because her podcast isn’t even a year old. There are many other podcasts that have been around for a long time that are more deserving of this recognition.

Get the fuck out of here; Criminal especially the episode with Phoebe’s mother, Radiolab, Snap Judgement, On The Media, This American Life, Reveal, Throughline, etc…give the award to a podcast that makes a difference in these uncertain times.

That is such a dumb award category for the Globes. They will need a new slate of noms every year. Will enough podcasts debut? Doesn’t seem like a sustainable category in the long run.

You mean those guys from the Pluto TV commercials didn’t win?

Im pretty sure I remember reading Amy Poehler started the podcast because she noted how little effort many men put in their podcasts, just sat around chatting, compared to female podcasts. So she started Good Hang to be the same low effort

…and that’s the podcast they chose as best podcast. One entirely created to be low effort.

None of the celebrities interviewing celebrity friends deserves to be on the list. The amazing podcasts out there on actual topics, it’s a bit of a sham.

Her podcast just came out a few months ago and I found her podcast to be a bit forced and fake sounding sometimes. In like Amy Poehler but there are much better podcasts.
