      I don’t think there is a bar?

Trump wants a terrorist attack on Americans to seize power. So yeah. Killing Americans at home isn’t even the bar. I don’t think it gets much worse than that?

You don’t need to “wait and see” when the behavior is already documented, accountability isn’t partisan.

Past American presidents usually don’t speak out. If all the surviving past presidents did so together, maybe it would help. They could ask to address the House and Senate.

Republicans are in control. They don’t care about Democrats might say and are proud to have “triggered the libs”. What do you think Obama or Clinton would accomplish?

Meanwhile, past Republican Presidents (and candidates) are either already dead or labeled as NeoCon RINOs. Romney spoke out, nothing happened. Nobody would care if Bush spoke out, they’d just point to the Iraq war and/or call him a RINO.

I don’t understand what benefit you think would result from that action. You need to convince 20ish Republican senators to do something that their supporters probably don’t want.

    5. What does an ex-president have to do with impeachment? Congress has the sole authority to impeach, convict, and remove a president from office.

    6. 0nlyhalfjewish on

There’s only one living former Republican president and no one has heard from him on anything since he left office.

Trump has been impeached, twice. Impeachment is a speed-bump nowadays. Another impeachment without Senate trial and removal is pointless. And this Senate is too busy performing analingus on Trump to do anything else.

Presidents Obama and Biden have spoken out. Crickets from Bush. VP Pence has spoken out. PBO doesn’t have to worry about legacy- he’s the real deal and most rational people recognize it. Personally I feel the same for President Biden. A man of character and empathy. Love him dearly.

    9. Calling for Impeachment or trying to impeach means nothing. Already saw this play out and nothing happens to change anything. It’s just a “buzz” word. Sadly

Politicians are waiting for midterms. The people are waiting for spring for mass protests. Trump isn’t waiting

They knew this bs was coming.

Love the old man, but Biden had four years to make an example out of the J6th’ers, before Trump entered office, pardoned, and started putting DHS/ICE badges on them.

They’re just as complicit in this insanity as Trump. Every time democrats have a difficult choice to make, they buckle. We are paying *dearly* for their cowardice today.

How do we know George Bush isn’t magaied just like the rest of the Republican party has? Looked at Marco Rubio, it happened to senator, it could happen to George too.

Is it really up to them, or us? If the majority of voters decide they want it, we are forced to accept it. Too bad most of the populace is easily convinced and tricked by dumb politicians!

I think it’s the people’s responsibility to correct this injustice. Look at Europe and even Iran, people are standing up and not waiting for others to fix this.

    15. Maybe 47 getting a blow job in the Oval Office?

      (I mean: that worked before)

      not sure if /s

I’m looking at you GWB. The Democrats can bitch and moan all they want but unless you are with them, it’s going to be meaningless

    17. Trump has already been impeached twice. What is the point of doing this again, other than strict adherence to the rule of law, which the GOP and MAGA have clearing demonstrated they do not care about? Without a 2/3s (67 votes) supermajority in the Senate, impeachment three goes no where, just like the first two.

The onus is not on prior presidents who now hold zero power, and limited governmental influence.

The onus is on congress, and the GOP has completely given up all their powers to allow Trump to do all this. Once democrats take over congress in 2026, be ready for investigations everyday and the stopping of (most of) Trumps agenda as “king.” Because republicans refuse to do so.

What a confusing notion. Why isn’t this question being constantly asked of every elected House and Senate representative, and State leadership? Every single minute of every hour of every day?

These are feeble old guys with no power. So weird to think these are the saviours. You want an inspirational speech or action? Talk to the people elected to take action

    20. Resident_Leopard_770 on

Impeachment is Only the formalization of Charges. It does nothing beyond refer the accused to the Senate for Trial. Trump has been Impeached TWICE, to no effect. He has been Convicted on 34 Felony Counts, and has not spent a second in jail.

Impeachment is a hollow act at this point. You can pat yourself on the back for the moral victory, but that is all another Impeachment will be.

      More is required.

    21. RandomlyJim on

Why are you asking the powerless to call for impeachment?

Call a senator or house member.

    22. sauerkraut916 on

Let’s be real here. Trump has already been impeached twice. He was supported and exonerated by his sycophantic lackeys in the House and Senate.

Impeachment has zero effect on Mr. Piggy Trump. I realize that impeachment is the first step to remove a President from office. But past impeachments did not do anything to lessen Trump’s GOP power and influence.

If anything, the impeachments emboldened Trump because he now knows that impeachment is simply a “government performative process” without any power to impede him.

    23. What do ex-presidents have to do with it? They don’t typically speak out against a sitting president. There is not a chance that an impeachment will work while the republicans have full control of the house and senate. Our best chance will be after the next election.

    24. Thin-Competition3018 on

Everyone targets all other politicians except the ones that matter and can do something today:

      THE REPUBLICANS!

Yes, they can impeach and remove this individual TODAY. We don’t even need an election. We simply need REPUBLICANS to remember who they work for and stop LICKING BOOTS.

With this administration I don’t know how anyone can have confidence.

We hear that immigrants are eating our pets.

Next, we hear that it was Ukraine that attacked Russia.

Next, we hear that our economy is better than ever.

Next, we hear that the US is in charge of Venezuela.

Next we hear that we are fighting to stop drugs from getting into our country.

Next, Trump pardoned the former Honduran leader who was „at the center of one of the largest and most violent drug-trafficking conspiracies in the world,“ helping to bring more than 400 tons of cocaine into the U.S., according to the Justice Department.

Loyalists do their best to sane-wash, rationalize, walk back and explain how all these statements make total sense.

Unless someone is a blind partisan I don’t see how anyone can have confidence in what we’re hearing in today’s chaotic climate.
