    Lovely story and everything but, seriously, wtf is going on with the standard of writing on the BBC online? Carcrash of a headline.

  5. Really is just a terrible headline and article. I don’t understand why the bbc is so bad at journalism. Tldr, some bloke wrote to bowie to do a gig to raise funds for the local car park, and apparently „the day he died“ – I’m struggling to believe that’s literal – his son offered £10,116 (i.e. reads like the date of his death.)

    If it was actually the same date, and making the payment the same as the date (like the old joke about filling in the cheque wrong) it just seems such a weird thing to do on the day your dad died.
