Charge him and let the courts decide. Not charging him because „reasons“ is not an excuse.

If the state goes after them it would be huge because they would finally be getting in the middle on our behalf and fighting for us.

    3. Reasonable_Automobil on

Of course there should be a full trial. I’m tired of everyone online making their own judgements, based on the scraps of info they happen to have.

    4. „“In Ross’ case, there was a previous incident—Ross had shot [with a Taser] through a window before at somebody in the car, and the guy hit the gas, and Ross had stuck his arm through the broken window, and he got cut [and dragged about 100 yards]“

That was he did last time!? The shooting wasn’t a one off thing, rather his go to solution for everything. He found out that tazing a driver was a dumb thing, and thought a gun is better?! Just him being employed and „trained“ by ICE tells me the entire ICE hirearchy needs to be replaced and built on stricter training.

Get that person into jail, and barred from ever holding a gun again. He’s a lunatic.

    5. Journalism; yes, including citizen journalism, expert commentary, and op-eds is not complicated. It has never been complicated. It goes like this:

      Here is what happened.
Here is what the law, rules, and standards say.
Here is what is happening now.

      Full stop.
      That’s the job.

Instead, we get vibes. We get speculation. We get twelve panels arguing about hypotheticals while facts sit untouched in the corner like an unpaid intern.

Walter Cronkite wouldn’t be embarrassed by TikTok, podcasts, or cable news. He’d be embarrassed that an entire industry seems allergic to the basic discipline of reporting. Not because the medium changed—but because standards quietly evaporated and were replaced with personality, outrage, and the soft tyranny of “let’s see how this plays out.”

As you can clearly see in the [video analysis](https://www.nytimes.com/video/us/100000010631041/minneapolis-ice-shooting-video.html) and multiple angles from multiple videos including the one from murderer Jonathan Ross‘ perspective, murderer Jonathan Ross was never in danger, the tires of the vehicle were pointed away from him, and he clearly stepped to the side unobstructed and continued to shoot innocent woman Renee Nicole Good point blank in the face, while fumbling with his cell phone in his other hand, while she was trying to comply with an order to move her vehicle, because he is the murderer Jonathan Ross.

Murderer Jonathan Ross, who murdered innocent woman Renee Nicole Good, also violated [DOJ policy](https://www.justice.gov/jm/1-16000-department-justice-policy-use-force) on use of force.

„Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless: (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means other than the vehicle; or (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, **and no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, _which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle_.“**

Murderer and domestic terrorist Jonathan Ross was clearly out to kill someone, and Jonathan Ross murdered Renee Good. Domestic terrorist organization ICE also denied and delayed medical aid to Renee Nicole Good, again against DOJ policy, every ethical and moral measure imaginable, and basic humanity. Coward, murderer Jonathan Ross then fled the scene uninjured. Murderer Jonathan Ross is a psychopath, just like all his colleagues in ICE, who are all accessories to murder.

    7. Regardless of the FBI taking over, there is no statute of limitation for murder. When a sane administration takes over, they can cooperate with locals and see that, admittedly delayed, justice is served.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Trump pardons everyone in his administration when he is going out the door. He is already abusing the powerful pardon power the constitution gives him in ways that demand reform. If he went blanket for everyone, it could lead to a constitutional amendment.

Thankfully, in this case, presidential pardons don’t stop states from charging the same crime. Had this happened in DC, that wouldn’t be possible.

    8. armageddon_20xx on

This is the way. It has to be. Every other way leads to a pretty terrible outcome. States have to stand up to this bullshit and maintain law and order. Force the feds to literally attack states and attempt to start a civil war if they want to continue, then and finally then MAGA might wake up.

    9. These fascists morons don’t like the courts because they know they will see through their blatant lies. The Pedo President won’t let that happen. He will just pardon him and appoint him to Secretary of Ballrooms.

    10. longtermattention on

I’m unaware of any job where holding a phone and gun at the same time is acceptable behavior

    11. FlexFanatic on

Curious if any states have their only civil rights violation at the state level. I mean the feds can slap on charges or take over a investigation from a state if there is a law on books.

    12. Adventurous-Depth984 on

What am I missing that there won’t be an investigation/trial/whatever/ANYTHING over this???

How could there not be due process when an agent of the state kills a citizen, regardless of appearance or justification?

    13. File charges now, indict that ham sandwich, worry about the repercussions later. State’s rights. Not even unprecedented, just go look up the slavery cases.

    14. groundhog5886 on

Current video should be enough for a manslaughter charge. Pretty sure it enough for a civil jury to get the kids a couple billion dollars.

    15. I expect the state will charge him in the next couple of weeks. They have enough evidence without the fbi cooperation to convict. That said, let’s see how corrupt the fbi really is. They may charge him.

    16. HearYourTune on

Misconduct expert is as valid as „a nice person said“ in this Nazi regime that pays no attention to laws.

    17. Derek Chauvin was convicted on both state and federal charges. Of course the agent can be tried, and the president has no say over the state’s right to prosecute.

It’ll be tough to find an impartial jury, though.

    18. Woody_CTA102 on

It was absolutely a murder. If a juror, I’d convict him just for being an obvious white wing psycho who signed up for $50K signing bonus and authority to harass and kill.

But I’d bet money shooter won’t be convicted — even if charged — with murder because he was lightly tapped and defense will claim his perspective was different from us looking at video and the usual „I feared for my miserable/worthless life.“ Maybe manslaughter or something, but even that is going to be tough.

The buck/blame rests with trump, dog killer Noem, Miller, etc.

    19. Notgreygoddess on

I hope her wife launches a civil wrongful death suit. Because it was soooo wrong.

    20. Hidden_Landmine on

Don’t charge it, just show up at its house at 3AM like they would any other terrorist.

    21. Since when is standing in front a car a good way to stop a car?

Since when is shooting a person who is about to run you over a good way not to get run over?

These are both bad judgement calls and against the policy of how ICE officers are supposed to behave.

I’d like the administration to admin that Officer Jonathan Ross made bad decisions and violated policy and training. **These are incontrovertible facts**.

And let’s not forget that the administration has released less than 1% of the Epstein files breaking a law that Trump himself signed:

      RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!!!

    22. Ambitious_Handle_189 on

Every argument someone has about justifying this based on the law, and in case you MAGA pricks need to be reminded the law ranks above policy, and ICE are not law enforcement.

From Title 1, U.S. DOJ Policy on Use of Force:

„Firearms may not be discharged solely to disable moving vehicles. Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless: (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means other than the vehicle; or (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury … and no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle.“

Also, placing oneself in the path of a moving vehicle constitutes officer-created jeopardy and undermines any claim that deadly force was necessary.

    23. HereForTheComments57 on

He should have been arrested immediately. Hold him until a judge decides.

    24. The state has a right to prosecute. The administration is intentionally blocking the criminal justice system. Not enough words to describe how despicable it is to block the investigation.

    25. External_Screen_1914 on

No one that is dumb enough to stand in the front of a vehicle with the engine running his camera in one hand and his hand on a gun, should wear a badge. He was looking to take someone down. His posture when he walked away was „I did the her “ . I believe his training went out the window because at a previous stop he was dragged by a vehicle, another incident that should have taught him u don’t try to stop a vehicle that is possibly moving. In the current case she was not trying to run him over, she was trying to leave the place, the other three or four other officer did They did not feel the need to fire.

Besides, since they now claim she was an agitator they knew who she was and where she lived, as well as having her license plate. They could have picked her up with a warrant at her home. This officer and others, feel since the President on down, have practically authorized to shoot at anyone they feel being threatened. Remember, the president once asked why do not federal officer just shoot protesters, even peaceful ones in the legs or somewhere that would not be lethal.

Of course, as usual our government immediately blamed a victim, without a independent investigation. Now the FBI does not even allow a independent investigation, just co0me up with a answer to blame the victim. Worse is coming. Wait if elections take place this year. Watch ICE trolling voting lines to interfere in the election process, of course only on the blue states-

    26. All the maga jurists in the country want the police and military to murder us with help from their brownshirt militia types so every case like this will get ‚reasonable doubt‘ in favor of the murderers.

    27. VanceKelley on

So charge him. The video of him shooting at least two shots into the car as it is driving past him, not over him, is available.

What more evidence is needed to charge someone? Let 12 people on a jury decide if shooting an unarmed woman through the side window of her car is a crime or not.
