Surprising amount of people wanna create sexualised images of unconsenting women and children.

  2. VPackardPersuadedMe on

I hope someone keeps a list. It’s pretty hectic what’s happening here.

  3. Aspect-Unusual on

App gets called out for letting the user make sexualised images of children, App gets a sudden uptake in users.

Yeah, these people need their harddrives checked.

  4. ShitFuckCuntBollocks on

People on here are starting to sound like Peter Kyle now that it’s twitter in contention.

  5. Shockingandawesome on

I don’t use grok anyway but are people probably downloading it now incase it gets banned?

  6. UnfuddleMyPuddle on

World: „child porn isn’t right don’t distribute it“

    The right wing: arrrghhhhh!!!

Outed yourselves lads. Good keep downloading. Makes a nice easy to find list of people to add to the register

Let’s talk about how water bills and electricity bills have gone through the roof to pay for said data centres. The trillion dollar companies should pay for the infrastructure costs, but we the general public do.

Someone will try telling me that I am wrong but it’s very easy to google that I am correct. Not doing the very easy leg work for people anymore.

What goes through the tiny minds of these people?

Headline: AI tool is used by deviants and paedophiles to create horrific pornographic images on non-consenting adults and children.

Morons: That sounds interesting, I’ll download it.

WTF!? WTAF..!? Are these idiots damaged?

  9. Special-Audience-426 on

Crazy. I literally can’t think of an app I’d be less likely to install right now.

I quite like not being on lists and being the harmless type of weird.

I get that we are in unchartered territory with generative AI, but if a company, or indeed Elon Musk is distributing an app that creates or is capable of creating child pornography, and they are doing nothing to prevent their users from generating illegal images (which I understand it is illegal in this country, even if it is generated by AI), then if the government had any balls they would be applying to have the owners of the app extradited where they should be facing charges, or be arrested as soon as they step on UK soil or any country that is will to cooperate with us.

If we are arresting people for making offensive tweets, then we should be arresting millionaires / billionaires who are doing far more egregious stuff.

If the app is being distributed on the Google play store and/or apple app store, then action.should be taken against Google and Apple too.

This is just like when gun sales go up in the US after a school shooting

  12. Dapper_Otters on

Because they want to create sexual images of women they know, and children.

Are we really pretending that isn’t the primary reason for the uptick?

  13. SpottedDicknCustard on

I had reported X last week but not thought to do grok.

Just went to report it and apple have removed the option to do so.

  14. Are these likely to be genuine downloads or is it possible that Musk is somehow massaging the figures by getting bot accounts to download Grok?

  15. trophyisabyproduct on

At this stage, I will genuinely question the reason of downloading Grok app…. if I happen to see it on someone’s phone.. .

  16. scorcherchar on

Im really hoping this is curious people checking if it will really do sexulised images of people by checking on their own sfw images. The alternative is rather concerning

  17. DecipherXCI on

Lots if weirdos getting a last minute goon session before its banned.

Actually a little bit shocking that the news that Grok is being used to sexualise people is what pushed it to no.1

  18. frowningtap on

Don’t block the app, block its CDN that way you break the app into compliance.

  19. BilboSmashings on

Mfers downloaded it just to say „fuck off“ because clearly no one wanted ot before this lmao.

  20. iloovehugecock on

This can *only* be a surge of sick fucks using it to make pornographic images of people they know and/or children. That’s the only reason it’s in the news and that’s the only reason it will have jumped up the download charts. It’s disgusting the number of sick weirdos we have to share this planet with

  21. I’m gonna go ahead and suggest it’s bots doing this to make a headline. And it doesn’t matter if that’s true or not because that’s not how the internet works anymore.

  22. Are you sure people aren’t downloading it because if it’s removed from the App Store they won’t be able to get it later? But users who already have it will still be able to use it

  23. Angelsomething on

Huh. That’s lots of nonces around my area I wasn’t ready to be made aware of.

  24. RedDevil757 on

I’m happy to say I’ve no idea what it is and don’t plan on ever changing that.

  25. They’ve basically told the whole country not to do something so of course we’re all gonna do the complete opposite

  26. Dystopian_Everyday on

Me in my 20s – “I can’t believe there used to be page 3 casual nudity and countdowns on underage models till we could see them naked, what an awful time for women where they were simply reduced to sexual objects”

Me now – “Oh god this is so much worse, at least page 3 models consented, got paid and had an age limit, where’s the go back button?!?!”

What an awful time to exist

  27. People gonna people. I’m starting to think we shouldn’t have told them nazis were bad. But then it would have happened even sooner.

Feels like there’s no escaping from history and evilness. The human race, in its current form, is doomed to live in its own purgatory

  28. BusterSonoma_UK on

I still don’t appreciate the appeal of AI (Grok,in particular). Still too much bias, too much hallucinations and pure error-prone responses. It’s not even good entertainment.

  29. “There’s no such thing as bad publicity” etc

But yeah I think this is probably a combination of a lot of weirdos who want to make dodgy images of kids, celebrities, or people they know (hopefully mostly the latter two)

Plus just people who’ve heard the story and have gone to see what it can actually do out of curiosity (again hopefully not making pictures of kids)

Plus people who’ve just found a way to get some adult content after the ID check bullshit
