    1. Overall job situation around the globe is suspect atm. It takes time for policies to affect the job market.

I’ve been traveling the for nearly a month in the Baltics. The conversion rate has been obscene.

    3. Just got back from the EU. The Euro killed me, lol. It’s crazy how weak the Canadian dollar has gotten.

The LPC and Trudeau’s legacy is to blame for much of the state of the country, but I think these recent job losses are due to Trump and his trade war. Companies are apprehensive to grow in these uncertain times with the tariffs.

    5. But I was told by our government jobs were being created faster than ever before! The carbon tax makes us much more competitive! I’ve been hoodwinked.

How the fuck do you people blame Trudeau for literally everything? Trudeau was PM of Canada from 2015-2025 and CAD vs USD went from .75 to .72, with slight fluctuations in between, the most stable the Canadian dollar has been in decades. Under Harper(2006-2015) it went from .86-.75 (also keep in mind the CAD was INCREASING before and as he took office.

So either the conservatives took a good Canadian dollar and killed it near the end of their leadership, or just Harper did it, or they didn’t have much to do with the CAD performing that poorly

    7. Wait didn’t the job report come in okay? Am i missing something? Its like every headline on reddit contradicts lmao

    8. But I thought our PM was an „economic genius“ and using hes special tactic of higher and higher elbows, we would of dealt with trump easily. /s

    9. How can Canada improve our economy? Where are we falling behind and what legislation needs to pass to improve it?

    10. It’s at 72¢. A year ago today it was at 69¢.

It was down in the last week because of the Venezuela thing – their oil is heavy crude like ours so that would lower demand. But now it’s looking like that’s not happening because US control of Venezuela was all talk, and US oil majors said yesterday that they aren’t interested anyway.

      Calm down.

    11. If we just vote for the same people again it’ll surely improve our situation next time!
