“That’s not true.” Something that was really clarified for me after filing a discrimination lawsuit (as a white man) is how effortlessly and thoughtlessly people will dismiss claims of racism, sexism and harassment. Even with no other information aside from a first hand complaint, people will instinctively dismiss what they’ve been told or offer highly detailed alternative scenarios, because society trains them to see such claims as inherently unfair.
