I’m Jewish and I’d support a ban on circumcisions for non-medical reasons on infants. I think, for Jewish boys at least, it could be done in the lead up to his Bar Mitzvah if he so chooses, and a similar age for Muslim lads. they should be at least able to understand and make the choice for themselves at that age.

I didn’t circumcise my son, but as he got older he developed issues – couldn’t retract, UTI, infection. So we ultimately had to get him circumcised. It was a choice he was able to make for himself at that point, too.

There are concrete health benefits of circumcision, such as [prevention of urinary tract infections, penile cancer, and transmission of some sexually transmitted infections, including HIV](https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article/130/3/585/30235/Circumcision-Policy-Statement) and health risks not being circumcised such as phimosis and infection.
This feels more like targeting Jews and less about protecting children.
