Sometimes you think the U.K. is a shithole and then they US is there to remind you there’s worse

  2. ChaiTeaAndBoundaries on

Trump hasn’t even been in office for 1 year and look at what he has done so far. Buckle up folks there is only 3 more years to go.

  3. UnfuddleMyPuddle on

Ban them. They’re already threatening war with everyone including themselves.

Alot of talk here about a group of people not compatible with western society. The Trump administration ans entire maga movement are that. That goes for the cosplayers on this island too.

The 1940s treatment for these types is needed in terms of a united front. That’s not a fight against the US but all western nations including the USA democrat or at least normal conservative states as well. They aren’t fit for society and need removed from all positions of decisuon making forever.

Anna Paulina Luna is completely mental. Not even her own party listen to her.

  5. Grow a pair and ban it, would also reduce Elons rants into our politics.
We should, like Canada, buy European, Australian/NZ etc. But we are crap in this country for boycotting.

  6. Jolly good, now, what was I doing, ah yes, making myself a nice slice of toast.

  7. CaptMelonfish on

If we ban it, others may. This is why they’re threatening sanctions.
Honestly, less American stuff would be great for us and europe

  8. Eleventieth on

Call me a conspiracy theorist but this seems like Musk is using the claim of ‚censorship and free speech‘ to normalise CSAM and noncing to get ahead of the curve on the Epstein files and reduce the public outcry for him and his mates.

  9. Fun-Brush5136 on

Imagine trying to set up a company to sell alcoholic drinks to 18 year olds, then taking it over to the US and kicking up a fuss and sanctioning the US just because it would be illegal there.

Different countries have different laws and customs. Why is it so hard for these bastards to understand that?

  10. You know what, most of the time it’s better to just take the pain and be on the right side of history because when the U.S. falls, which it will, all empires do, you don’t want to get dragged down with it.

We need to start a grassroots campaign, asking businesses to stop using the platform, whether they advertise or just have an account there.

Every time you see it – contact their customer service and ask them politely to stop using a platform which actively enables the creation and distribution of child porn.

It won’t take many complains before businesses decide it’s not worth the hassle/bad publicity.

I work in the social media industry, and the honest truth is there’s almost zero business benefit to being on Twitter – it costs money to be there, but returns very little. A lot of businesses will happily just let it go.

  12. LisbonMissile on

Imagine completely overlooking the fact that a social platform is offering a pay-to-nonce scheme where you can generate sexually explicit pictures of kids no questions asked, and yet your ire is aimed at a leader who (mildly, let’s be honest) criticises it.

  13. BarryIslandIdiot on

Do it. Sanction the UK. The trade between the US and the UK means it will affect the US more.

  14. Own-Victory473 on

Freedom of speech is forcing another country to keep your propoganda website open to view, honestly ban x, move away from america they arent worth the headache anymore

  15. FrustratedPCBuild on

Imagine voting for a man who will go to bat for a billionaire over his private company while making your health insurance more expensive. Trump voters are the biggest suckers in the world.

  16. MkUltraMonarch on

This diplomacy the government is playing with America won’t help; appeasement doesn’t work with people like trump. It only emboldens him to push even further.

No matter how much we bend the knee it will never be enough. Take a stand or wait until it’s too late

  17. Nob-Biscuits on

It’s impossible to tip toe about without upsetting a tyrant, sooner or later you have to stand up to it.

Just casually point out that it’s a bad look to be best friends with a paedo for so many years and also support an AI that can undress children.

  18. Protecting an app that can produce child porn is a baffling choice.

But this is the same government that is hiding the Epstein files so hardly surprising….

  19. honkymotherfucker1 on

You know what? Let them, might give us a reason to fucking rejoin the EU which everyone seems reticent to do despite everyone but the most professional of tongue based window cleaners believing it’s a good idea.

  20. UK_Shared_Hotwife on

I’ve never been more supportive of Kier Starmer doing something, as when those fucking idiots over the Atlantic say he shouldn’t do it

  21. JaguarWitty9693 on

Seriously – at what point do we just tell them all to fuck off and that we’ll check back in again in about 3 years?

  22. terrorsquid on

Who’d have thought the US Congress would go out of its way to protect nonces!

  23. UK is obviously a vassal state of US and doesn’t have the guts to ban an American company.

  24. DennisAFiveStarMan on

Didn’t Melania do a deep fake law or something. Should lean on that

  25. So the egomaniac „I had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein“ billionaire President of another country, is going to punish us if we block access to CP generating cesspool website run by a different psycopath billionaire, who spent a few months twisting US politics and is now consistently trying to influence our politics, and despite chumming up to him for months said the president has a LOT to do with Jeffrey Epstein.

And some people think that our country needs MORE of what they’re pushing? Cool. What a time to be alive.

  26. Bigheartedmusketeer on

Remember when the US wanted to ban tiktok. But the UK is the bad one for wanting to ban X.

  27. „Tech firms should have the freedom to provide the ability for users to create sexualised deepfakes of people, including children“ is a weird hill to die on.

As is, „It’s ok, they’ve said they’ll restrict it to paying customers!“

  28. One_Two_5694 on

Scary to say this but if Starmer stands up to the US, he can have my vote at the next election.

  29. salamanderwolf on

If anything, this cluster fuck has really shown who’s pro child abuse image. Sadly, there’s far too many people who are.

  30. I dont care, let them sanction us.

Starmer needs to ban X and make a statement about the U.S Government putting sanctions on an entire nation because a business has asked them to, he needs to make clear what that signifies, theyre not interested in free speech, theyre interested in corporate greed and misinformation. EU should follow suit.

Ban X . . . it will benefit all of us.

  31. TriggersShip on

National Conservatism / MAGA / Brexit / Reform = unaccountable Sovereignty for Billionaires but subservience for you.

  32. Open-Difference5534 on

What I cannot understand is that Americans tend to be more prudish that Brits, and Trump’s MAGA base seem to be God-fearing types. Do they really think that the ‚First Amendment‘ should allow fake porn?

Does this Congresswoman support AI generated porn?

Ashley St Clair, the mother of one of Elon Musk’s children, told BBC Newshour that Grok had generated sexualised photos of her as a child. The conservative influencer said her image had been „stripped“ to appear „basically nude, bent over“, despite her telling Grok that she did not consent to the sexualised images.

  33. Ban it UK! Stand up to The Big Orange One and his acolytes. If it’s not this, they’ll threaten sanctions over something else.

  34. No_Opportunity9053 on

Sanctioning a country for potentially banning a platform that arguably SHOULD be banned would be mild compared to what the Trump administration already did and will do.

  35. KlausHeisler1 on

Brits being gaslit into restricting their own speech by sensationalist headlines like this. Forget about Americans politics for one moment and think about how this governments actions will affect you. I barely even use X but banning it is ridiculous.

  36. Sanction us how, reduce our use of social media, close Mac Donald’s?
We want nothing from the US because nothing goods comes from that current fascist country led by a pedo rapist. Literally all the commodities are complete crap.

  37. I seriously think the world would be a much better place if X disappeared today.

  38. whirlygiggler on

    So what? it’s just noise.
The man in I met in the pub last night says he’s going invade the artic circle

She has free speech we have a right not to listen especially when they talk bollocks

Surely we need to stop reporting and commenting on every brain fart some tit spouts off
