Putin thought that all he needed was enough bodies to throw at the bullets just like Stalin did.
In reality, winning a war depends on logistics and technology.
Russia has lots of warm bodies it’s willing to throw into the meat grinder, but nowhere near the logistical or technological advantage to win.
