Democrats didn’t lie. Trump spent the last decade installing people loyal to him, not the constitution, in every branch of government and then was able to get Republicans the house and the Senate.
Trump is not showing how much power a president can use. He is showing how much power he can abuse when his loyalists control all the branches of the government, and swear feilty to him over their constitutional oaths.
Democrats had a sense of decency and a realization that being total tools would end the party. I guess he could have sold pardons to rich people, enact tariffs then give that money to south america.
