    1. By definition the entire communist block was the second world for fucks sake
I get that the phrase changed meaning over time but we’re talking about time period that invented the original meaning.

During the times of the Polish People’s Republic, we were literally, by definition, a second world country.

Jesus, we reached a point when The Telegraph is just hiring uneducated halfwits or something? Poland was a socialist country, it’s not the same as communist, it doesn’t need any secret knowledge, few minutes doing google search or asking chat gpt will sort that out. And it never was a third world country. WTF?

Untill you are needing workforce and are inviting hole africa to compensate for the lack of children. Like all western europeans you choose wealth over culture and people. Hope it will not be like that, but thats how it usally happens

    5. Nice writeup, but it’s really hard to keep focus while reading when names appearing in the text were „butchered”. Took me a minute to figure out what „Elektrownia Powiśle” is.

It’s a great country but It’s being on track to match uk gdp by 2031 is hardly overtaking. Also gdp not a great metric anyway.

    7. Poland is certainly one of my favorite countries, along with the Czech Republic.

    8. Poland was not a communist, third world country. It was under governance that forced Poland to be seen as communist country. They never chose that.

It’s not a big accomplishment, they are a bit like a slightly special cousin who took the short bus to school nowadays who constantly keeps shooting himself in the foot ( like they did during Brexit ).

So rich and powerful that the government doesn’t want the workers to have health insurance.
