Hundreds of cities actively protesting, police are being pulled back in favor of direct IRGC intervention. Videos coming out of cops being set on fire in the streets, burning down images of the Ayatollah, setting fire to government buildings.
I am watching with bated breath, we have seen protests shut down before in Iran but this feels different in terms of scale and intensity.
It would be so incredible to see the regime fall to the will of Iran’s own people. The Persians have such a long and rich history and culture that have been absolutely stained by the current regime. Obviously the Ayatollah was a direct response to U.S. and British intervention in the first place, but it’s time for him to go and for Iran to return to its greatness.

The religious nutcases ruling Iran must be pissing themselves now between all the protests and Maduro. I doubt they will last, one way or another.

Turning off the internet seems stupid in my opinion. Having no internet is like an incentive to go out and protest

I am from Bangladesh and this is exactly how our dictatorship fell. They turned off the internet and people no longer tolerated them anymore.

I can see that protests in the US are growing but this is the type of scale that Americans need for things to change and for this nightmare in the United States to end.

The regime has repeatedly shown that it is willing to use lethal force to stay in power. Without meaningful foreign intervention, the chances of overthrowing it are slim.

Happy to see a country’s people finally fight back from the fascist tyrants that have been running it into the ground.
It’s unfortunate and scary that the country has to degrade to such a point before it happens.

Young people in the UK only care about Gaza and Palestine and hating Trump, they don’t know anything else in the world. Maybe that’s why not so much coverage.

Iranian here, With the help of China they have completely shut down the internet, phone lines, and with the help of Iraqi forces they are killing and torturing people on the streets. This is the fight between people with empty hands, vs a regime with equipment, radios, guns, china and russian inteligence, My heart aches for my people. No external power is helping them.

Iran had such a bright future until the religious zealots took over. I’m glad the people still have the fight in them though. They never really fully accepted the new direction Iran took.

Uh oh. Iran is pulling a Nepal. Let’s see how that works out for them.

I wish the people of Iran get their freedom, my country is as well under a dictatorship and can only hope everyone can be free in the future

I feel like this is how you get more people to join the protest because they have nothing to do now.

I’m not sure why there is so little reporting or conversation on this on Reddit.
