At this point I am pretty well convinced Trump’s supporters know he is lying. They are well aware, but because they agree with the sentiment of the lie MAGAts go along with it because it suits their narrative.

These awful people are the embodiment of what a disingenuous bad faith antagonist stands for.

If Trump is talking he is lying.

It’s been clear since day 0 of MAGA that truth doesn’t matter — only winning does. This is the position of the administration globally (Miller recently speaking to strength) and has been the mental model of MAGA consistently. Viewed through this lens, everything makes sense and you can predict the next move. Door-to-door (like Vance said) to incite violence in order to create marshal law and defer all elections indefinitely (like Trump said). The only lie Trump told that MAGAts care about is that he’ll be a dictator for just one day. They’re happy to see it’s indefinitely.

As a Canadian, I only learned of your mayor’s name yesterday, but seeing how hee communicates during this crisis, as well as actually displaying a backbone and willingness to stand up to Trump is seriously inspiring.

I don’t know what kind of mayor he is for your city, but it’s clear he cares about it and it’s people from what I’ve seen so far.

Why do we still hinge on every word Trump says, though? Why write op-eds in the NY Times about what Trump said? The media should just matter-of-factly report it, and move on to other news. Done. We sink too much bandwidth into all the gobbledygook he says while he just says and does more bullshit. It’s boring. He’s boring. Congress is boring. All this news is boring. Vote the fuckers who engage in keeping this garbage afloat out in November. That’s the only course of action that matters, aside from practicing your Constitutional right to peaceably assemble.
