We should ask the UK or France for a small number of nuclear weapons. Or possibly even develop them ourselves, in secret and quickly. We have more than enough land and resources for such a project.
A year ago, I was very much anti-nuke. Now I understand. Deprofileration only works in a post-imperalist world where sovereignty is respected. Both Russia and the US, two of Canada’s biggest adversaries at the moment, are imperalist.

Canada and the U.S. share the world’s longest undefended border – a testament to generations of peace, friendship, and a deep-rooted bond forged from shared origins and shaped by distinct paths since parting from the British Empire.
Many of us have family and enduring ties on both sides. I hope we find our way back to mutual respect and cooperation, so we can continue being good neighbors who bring out the best in each other.

It’s so embarrassing to be an American. It“s sickening that in each and every day that passes our relationships with our allies are deteriorating more and more. I’ve never been less proud to be an American and I don’t recognize this country anymore. For fucks sake, a red carpet was rolled out for Vladimir Putin. Fuck anyone that voted for Trump, fucking mobster pedo wannabe dictator.

As a Canadian who was recently fired from an American company (I have always been working in Canada though), all I want to say is this: I don’t want the American healthcare system. My previous job led me to understand way too much about the horrors of their high premiums and high deductibles (which were made far worse because the Republicans failed to renew the enhanced tax credits, and will continue to be made even worse in 2027 when there will be work requirements for Medicaid, courtesy of the „One Big Beautiful Bill“). As bad as the Canadian healthcare system may be, I am well aware that appointments are also very hard to get in America too, depending on what city you live in and what hospital system you use (yes, waiting months for specialists is common). While my dismissal from work caused me to lose extended health benefits, I would never lose all coverage completely because everyone who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or work permit holder with 6 months of full time work history gets a health card.
This is before we even bring up the issue of guns. Mass shootings aside, we know that even now, Canadian gun crime is fueled by guns smuggled into the country. If there is a takeover, where Canada becomes part of the US, guns will literally be everywhere because now, everyone here will have the right to own guns. All manners of homicide and suicide rates will go way up. More guns make society more dangerous to live in.

We have some of the smartest people in the world in Canada. And they know how to make nuclear weapons.
We can’t trust America, and we need to have nukes available for our own defence and to deter them from taking action.

I just wanted to call out I got stranded in Iqaluit over the summer and I met Aaju at the airport. She is the kindest, most wonderful woman. She offered her house to us if needed, gave me her number for emergencies and let me know if we needed anything just to message her.
It’s wonderful to see her here sticking up for what’s right. As a Canadian I agree with everything she is saying. US needs to leave us alone.

It’s simple. The administration is killing Democrats. They’re killing Americans. They’re threatening south America, Canada, Europe, China.
There is a case for a united reaction force towards the Trump government from all mentioned above. It doesn’t need to go to global war. Just a global united community against the billionaires that own America and their pedo puppets doing their work. A global resistance is needed.

Buddy, an “invasion” up here? You’d be eating shit before you even clear the border, and I’m not talking spiritually. One black-ice patch and your whole convoy’s doing figure skating in the ditch like a bunch of pylons.
You think you’re gonna occupy Canada? Give yer balls a tug. This place is distance, winter, and bureaucracy wearing a toque. We’ll smile, say “oh for sure,” and then absolutely ruin your day with the most polite resistance you’ve ever seen.
First week: every road is “closed for construction,” every bridge is “under inspection,” and every detour sends you on a scenic 6-hour loop through Nowhere, Ontario. Second week: strikes. Work slowdowns. “Sorry bud, systems are down.” Third week: you’re begging for a Tim’s and all you get is a lukewarm double-double and a “yeah no” from a 19-year-old keener who just put your paperwork in the wrong pile on purpose.
Your supply chain? Cooked. Absolutely eating shit. One freezing rain warning and half the province collectively decides it’s a snow day. Hydro’s out, phones are dead, and you’re trying to run an operation while Canadians are out for a rip in boots older than your strategy.
We won’t even yell. We’ll just be relentlessly, cheerfully stubborn. You’ll spend a fortune, get nothing but headaches, and eventually head south like “wow, these polite weirdos are exhausting.” Beauty.

Even with all the warranted criticisms, the North Koreans had the right idea about getting nukes at all costs. It was a completely rational and existential choice. And they never ever will get rid of them because look what happens to our allies that don’t have nukes, let alone our enemies.
