Weird, London is pretty much right where Calgary is. Amsterdam and Brussels are very close to Regina and Saskatoon’s locations, too.

And Asian cities.

The warm water/air currents and the pseudo lake aspect of the Mediterranean really make Europe much nicer in the winter. Chicago and Rome at the same latitude is legit hilarious.

Would have helped to use mostly cities people have heard of.

I kind of wish the longitudes were kept relative of each other as well as best as possible.
Got some Asia mixed in there too.

Could some of the success of the 13 colonies be attributed to more daylight hours all around the year, as opposed to the Old World?

Climate change is going to screw the Southern states over really badly.
I imagine they really will be after Canada’s water then and likely desperate enough to do something drastic.

Believe it or not, Milwaukee does not have the same climate as the Mediterranean coast of France.

Tel Aviv is farther North then Haifa? 😅
Last time I checked, in order to get to TLV from Haifa, you need to drive ~100km South.

How is it showing Haifa as south to Tel Aviv??? I checked what I think are the corresponding cities. Jackson, Mississippi is 32.3 and Dallas and Texas is 32.78.

Haifa is north of Tel Aviv, but appears south in this map (Tel Aviv is placed at Dallas, and Haifa at Jackson, Alabama).

Really cool to see all these Nordic cities on there normally these “hey did you know the Gulf Stream exists” maps don’t include anywhere European north of Moscow, seeing Reykjavik and Narvik on there made me realise how insanely far north northern Scandinavia actually is

Idk much about America but Hamburg further north than London is already odd to me. Learn new things every day I guess.

Since when does Marakesh lie in Europe?

Ljubljana is bizzarely positioned on the map – its latitude is 9 arcminutes south of Geneva’s, but it appears significantly more to the north.
