Fighting broke out in two Kurdish neighborhoods of Aleppo between Syrian government forces and the Kurdish led Syrian Democratic Forces after a deal to integrate the SDF into the state was not carried out.
At least eight people were killed and dozens were wounded, with both sides blaming each other for harming civilians.
The Syrian army declared SDF positions legitimate targets, urged civilians to leave, and flights at Aleppo airport were temporarily suspended. Efforts to reach a ceasefire have so far failed.
