    1. It’s disgraceful how at no point nobody in western politics gave a fuck about the fact that Belarus was more than okay with the Kyiv push being carried out from their territory.

    2. Thank you for using reasonable coordinates, and not the runaway sig figs that seem to have become the norm in osint footage.

    3. In light of the US mission carried out in Venezuela the ruSSian plan almost appears comically amateur lvl.

    4. Some of this early footage of the war is so captivating as it usually conforms to what people think happens in a war. In contrast to the reality its so crazy how quickly the skies became deadly and the trench and drone warfare began.

Impossible. I was told Russia never actually wanted to take Kyiv or capture Zelensky.

From a tactical level, this was about the only reasonably successful and well-thought out thing Russia accomplished in this war.

The air assault worked. They did manage to gain control of the airport with relatively light losses (bum rushing the Dnieper deep into enemy territory with 100+ helos and virtually no air cover would obviously result in some airframe losses). They even managed to consolidate and hold until the main VDV push south linked up with the on the ground within 48 hours. The local game changer was a Ukrainian artillery company that was repositioned near Hostomel in the hours leading up to the invasion. They were able to crater the runway and lay waste to some of the advance forces.

Strategically this operation was bound for failure unless Ukraine literally gave up within hours. There was no way they would have brought IL-76s in without full DEAD in the Kyiv sector, something the VKS doesn’t really train for outside of shooting anti-radiation missiles.
