We want EV cars! Xpeng, BYD…

Access to Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) is important for Canada because they are significantly more affordable and widely available, helping accelerate EV adoption nationwide. Constructive relations with China also support innovation, technology exchange, and supply-chain resilience. Climate action requires speed, scale, and affordability—areas where China currently plays a central role.

    Hooo and no more TRUMP!

Honestly China was one of Trudeaus biggest failures, we all know who they are politically, they aren’t going to change, we can either take advantage of them or watch others do it and miss out.

    Trump looks over.

    Consorting with the opposition.

    Large oil reserves

    Large strategic metal reserves.

    All next door.

Calls the Dept of War, „We got a problem“

  5. The last thing I want as a Canadian is closer ties to the CCP, this is disastrous

  6. More economic agreements to come. Canada becoming a major with Canada while ignoring American farmers and cattle ranchers thanks to Trump and his dunbass tarriffs.

Sure. Move away from one Fasicm to another. The difference is that the US could change in 3 years, but China will not change

Look at your products at home, food, etc…we have been linked to China for decades..what’s going to change? Pay more for the same products while investors make bank..Carns will pad all his associations of investments, and leave our country crumbling..it is the Brookfield way..

This is the outcome of MAGA/TRUMP it will push the west into the arms of China.

If China ditched its support for Russia and aligned with the EU, it could be very interesting.

The US has burned so many bridges because of Trump. Time to make new ones.

We shouldn’t be allies with a hostile dictatorship that violates international law, uses economics as a weapon, pretends it’s a victim while taking over the world, and violates the autonomy of not only it’s people but others in it’s sphere.

That said, what do you do when your current #1 ‚ally‘ also ticks all of those boxes?

The tides of trade and globalization are changing rapidly.

If China makes the correct decisions from here on out not only will they claim the next world power, they could also get their country out of this economic hole they’ve dug themselves in a quicker speed than anyone could’ve imagined.

They were handed this on a silver platter.

  13. I would imagine we are going to start a relationship with China for oil and protection. Plus other stuff but mostly for oil and protection. We need a super power as a friend.

Good! Canada needs to stop its morally outraged, pearl clutching approach to geopolitics. There are no permanent friends or enemies. Only partners.

I voted for this. Love you Carney.

I hope this meeting encourages Carney to lift the ban on Chinese EV cars. Fuck Tesla and the others. I was able to ride in a Chinese EV vehicle when I travelled abroad and it was genuinely amazing. I’d love to own one someday.

  16. Cool! I am hopeful there will be productive talks and we can get some trade agreements in place. That there is a meeting at all is already encouraging. Getting the canola flowing to China.
