Datenquelle ist der tägliche Taupunkt, der von der NOAA und der PRISM Climate Group gemeldet wird: https://prism.oregonstate.edu/

    Die völlig objektive, unvoreingenommene Methodik ist einfach:

    • Taupunkt < 55F: Jared ist nicht unglücklich.
    • Taupunkt >= 55F: Jared ist unglücklich.
    • Taupunkt >= 70F: Lass Jared in Ruhe.
    • DECHIPARIN> = 80F: oooooo)!

    Es liegt wirklich nicht an der Hitze, sondern an der Luftfeuchtigkeit!

      I need to do one of these.

      Except I wouldn’t use the dew point formula. Mine would be modified to have like 2x the emphasis on humidity, on account of how much I sweat, and how much I despise sweating. Wind would also be a factor.

      I grew up in a stagnant valley in the Midwest. So I wouldn’t do much outside if it was much above 80F.

      Visited the Southwest, and at 100F, I felt like I still had headroom. Less „suffocating“ heat and more „campfire“ heat.

      As someone who lives on the East Coast, I always look forward to the few weeks each year where we miraculously get warm weather but low/ish humidity.

    3. Vegas in 90+ is still miserable even with 10% humidity. Especially if the wind blows. Shits like a convection oven.

    4. If you actually live at the star on the map in Western NC/Asheville – things could’ve been a lot worse for Jared in July!

      This is an excellent inverse map for me! I moved to Oregon and always complain about how dry it is. I’m on the western side, so people always look at me funny because it’s constantly raining. I’ve tried to explain, even when it’s raining, the humidity is still much lower than back east (but many still look at me dumb). This map shows I am not crazy, and I need to get back to where Jared Is Miserable (I’ll swap places with you Jared).

      I can’t speak for the whole west coast but that “humidity“ showing in the orange on Oregon’s coast / Willamette valley is very misleading.

      I’ve lived in central Texas and I’ve lived in Oregon and the humidity that is almost an invisible hand grasping your throat and making you sweat in Texas is not the same humidity as in western Oregon.

      The humidity here is actual mist hanging in the air and it’s bone soaking and cold lol

    7. Colorado is just too dry. PNW “humidity” is midrange enough you don’t notice. East Coast summer is death.
