The Norse (Europeans) are the indigenous people of south Greenland.

We would have a better world in 2026 if the Norse had landed in present-day Massachusetts five centuries earlier than the Mayflower settlers.

Its pretty haunting to think about how the dorset just disappeared genetically. I wonder what happened to them.

If this is correct, I had no idea the Dorset preceded the Norse. I’d always believed the Norse came first. Interesting!

I find it interesting that the Thule / Inuit migrated around the north to the east coast and then south. I would think they would have migrated south down the west coast. I guess Greenland was warmer back then? It doesn’t look like they stayed in the north if this map is accurate.

To the people who are knowledgeable on this matter, why didn’t leif Ericsson and his men told their rulers and kings about vinland when they came back from there to gather more resources for a more successful colonization ?
