This is good if they don’t go too far. As a kid I read some inappropriate stuff. , some of it mandatory.

This is all useless to comment on unless I see the list of books here. Both ‘sides’ of this debate use so much willful ignorance here.
Opponents claim that this is being used to ban anything that even tangentially mentions gay or trans people, which proponents deny. While proponents point to a few actual crazy cases where educators are strangely committed to keeping books essentially teach young kids how to have drugs and sex with weird explicit images, which opponents deny is the case here.
Which one is it in Alberta? This debate is so cooked and politically charged I have literally no idea and refuse to believe anything either side says until I can see the list of banned books for myself.
A good article. Notice that names of removed books are being kept secret by the boards Involved. That’s an outrage in a free society. Time to root out those titles that have been removed and publicly name them.
What we teach our children should reflect our values as parents and families, not those of fringe political activists.
