Donnie McClurkin has an autobiographical documentary out that I remember seeing once as a young church girl, where he describes being sexually abused growing up. I absolutely hate to see that he’s chosen to repeat the cycle rather than break it. My parents still keep asking why I don’t go to church anymore, but I just can’t keep supporting blatant hypocrisies like this.

It isn’t a surprise. McClurkin is a sick man who unfortunately has made a career of lashing out and in this case, committing sexual violence, against LGBTQ people and gay men due to self-hatred and his own abuse past. It is a horrifying tragedy but he’s a perpetrator and he damaged this man. Hopefully he wins a lot of $$$ and can gain closure.
