Can’t say I’m surprised. I left teaching because of how hostile male students were getting.
Honestly these kids are ages 7 to 11..
Why the fuck are they taking knives or having access to knives.
A child caught with a knife in school should be placed into care whilst their parents heads are examined.
Imagine your 7 year old rolling with his cheffing equipment to sort his rival out..
Surely if you attack staff that’s automatic suspension.. they will go to jail in the real world
Sadly seems like a situation that just cannot be remedied by the school alone. What kind of deterrent is suspension or expulsion to kids and parents who likely place no value on their education?
At the end of the day there’s not much they can do when the parents don’t give a shit. Too many have the „my tribe“ mentality and will defend their kids no matter what they do, probably even encourage this kind of behaviour. Just another product of the ever increasing selfishness and sense of entitlement among people in this country.
Why the hell are kids aged between 4-11 bringing knives to school in the first place‽ What’s wrong with these parents‽
It feels to me as if nowadays kids have basically worked out that there are no serious consequences to doing anything (well, from the adults at least). For lack of better terms, basically, they’re not seeing adults as being superior beings with rank over them.
I was a pretty rough kid (school suspensions etc) but when I was younger there was always that line, for example I was terrified at the concept of e.g. a policeman taking me home, like it’d ruin my entire life.
The idea of taking a knife into school or that one of the other kids, even the absolutely mental ones, would do that sort of thing wouldn’t have even entered into my mind.
In general I’m a bit frustrated with the constant attempts to ban everything (a gang member isn’t going to give a toss whether you’ve made a locking penknife illegal, and trying to restrict access to things like kitchen knives is just a complete waste of time), but in schools there really is no excuse.
I think this is boys acting up due to lack of role models. They are insecure and playing up. Gripping to gang culture, etc for any sign of manhood.
I saw a news report on ABC America iirc where boys became so violent with each other and their teachers that the fathers formed a patrol group where dads do shifts walking through the school hallways and playgrounds.
Needless to say the boys became non violent immediately. To my understanding it was Not due to a threat of the fathers there but because boys had a male to interact with, ask questions about how ask a girl on a date, how to deal with bullying etc.
Even the reporter asked the dads „are you guys on to something here?“.
Its too bad in the UK, activists (yes, I do mean feminists) just want to further poison boys and vilify them. Rather than do it properly. These boys see almost no men around them. Especially if it’s a state school.
