    1. Obviously they should just set the jammers to „crime only“-mode. \s

ETA: Yet again I have made a stupid joke before reading the article and then once I read the article it turns out that I apparently wasn’t joking.

It’s incredible how incompetent they are , they’re going to create a total mess just because they don’t know how to properly solve the problem in prisons

I mean, imagine the poor prison staff forced to just tough it out Grizzly Adams style with no way to entertain themselves or contact their family. I don’t think they get paid enough for all that.

Law enforcement in the US is so damn lazy these days – literally won’t bother solving a crime unless sending an email can deliver all the evidence to them

Correctional officers are not allowed to bring cell phones or smart watches into the facility. We are searched at the front door.

I went to the DMZ in Korea where they use signal jammers… You know what I did to use my phone? Wifi. Literally wifi at every building lol.

    7. I get the idea and I agree with the goal but this is a really stupid and the first clear evidence I’ve seen that the FCC has also been replaced by sycophants without any clue what they’re doing.

    8. Some of the information here is crazy. Cell phone jammer will not affect their broadband. Prisons have wired connections and phone lines. The select few staff members that are allowed phones in certain areas can just use WiFi.

    9. Why not install a phone mast at the prison and white list the devices you want to have access?

There are several Government Ministries in the UK that force all connections on their premises through masts they control and all packets are inspected.

This works even in the centre of London so a prison should be even more straight forward.

    10. It’s the staff that brings the phones in. Lol. I’m sure they don’t want it jammed either. It’s how they get their Christmas money.

IMHO they should just allow way more tech into prisons. I bet you’d see a lot less violence and stuff like that if they had access to Netflix and 2K.

    12. You can still block calls and simultaneously allow emergency services call. We do it at our secured sites.

    13. Your basically asking a system that would sooner let prisoners die of heat stroke than actually take measures to prevent the situation in the first place. Blocking 911 calls would just be a bonus to these people.

    14. How about we prosecute the people who provide the phones, and the ones who let them slip in ?
