my wife is an immigrant from central america, and she also works in a law firm with primarily immigrant clients. she knows personally many venezuelans and dozens or hundreds more through social media. and yes, they actually are happy about it. there were live streams of parties in the streets. its smart to be cautious of things on the internet now more than ever but the people really are happy he’s gone. it’s not fake

I don’t know what’s true or not but the only Venezuelan I know personally is happy. She has elderly parents still there.

Guys as a Venezuelan, this moment is almost at the same level as when Chavez died. It’s great, I can’t blame Venezuelans for being happy. That assface caused so much death. I’m hoping they actually pay for what they’ve done but we’ll see. Trump’s willingness to work with the remaining chavista government is not amazing but we’ll take what we can get
Honestly I considered this for a moment. There are a lot of conflicting sources out there so someone in the US who doesn’t know any Venezuelan natives personally, I can only go by what I read and see on the internet. So which is it?
I think we’re having the wrong conversation here. I’ve seen happy celebrating Venezuelans. Just look at accounts of what was going on & all of the people that left. People would’ve cheered if somebody kidnapped Biden… or Trump & they weren’t running things like Maduro. I think we can establish that as baseline facts.
We need to examine this administration’s actions and what did and did not happen within those actions.
I think this says more about people who use AI than it being a psyop. Actual Venezuelans ARE happy and celebrating about Maduro being gone. But they’re so fucking lazy they have to use AI slop because they can’t be bothered to get actual footage or because what is available doesn’t look as good to them.
Whether Venezuelans are happy with this or not, they should be aware the US, as stated by Trump, are only interested in their natural resources. A puppet government is going to be installed, and we are going to see a Libya 2.0.

Coming from a South American and have had my family helping Venezuelans, why would Venezuelans NOT be happy? Do you have any idea how their lives have been? It doesn’t mean trump is king, but the hatred for trump (which I also carry) seems to be blinding people of the other side of the story… and the other side of the story are the people like me and probably you, therefore they get my sympathy before I care about trump…
