The headline is a little misleading on this one.

The subtitle: The UK’s disillusioned Gen Z are losing faith in democracy, survey finds

The title should be „Random assortment of unqualified gen Z were asked what they think and they think things are worse.“

  2. You mean…. Just like the people voting Remain told you it would?

Surprise surprise… and they’ll still flock to Nigel.

I didn’t vote Brexit and don’t think think it’s been good for the UK.

But do we really need simplistic journalism like this based on yet another poll?

Independent continues its race to the bottom.

It’s just a survey. I agree with it, but anyway I don’t think a survey proves anything

“Britain’s disillusioned Gen Z are losing faith in democracy”

Friendly reminder that in 2019, 47% of 18-24 year olds turned out to vote whilst 74% of over 65s did.

Yeah, if you’re not politically active, then of course politicians aren’t going to listen to you. Why are you surprised?

The ones who get listened to are those who advocate for themselves and vote- like homeowners, Brexiteers, pensioners etc.

Also- if you think Brexit was bad and our systems are suffering for it but still vote for Nigel Farage, then enjoy what you voted for. He thinks we didn’t do Brexit hard enough, so do not blame anyone except yourself for any adverse consequences.

Shame all the media didn’t point this out in 2016. It was always going to make everything worse…by design.

„What are you going to do, stab me?“ asks man before being stabbed.

  8. The lack of critical thinking to realise that the reason everything is worse is because of Brexit and then to vote Reform driven by the man who made it happen is literally insane.

Its almost like it was PsyOP designed to destabilize the UK or something 🤔 crazy that

The thing is. If we take the title of the article at face value one could reasonably argue that unless we have Britain in an alternate dimension where Brexit never happened, we can’t really compare if it was better or worse

  11. „Project Fear“ turned out to be true. Where are the consequences for those that pushed Brexit?

  12. That’s a very post truth headline.

We obtain the facts by taking medain results from the median person who answers a online add that promises a prize draw for answering some questions.

Did you notice that the sample size given included differ pole in overseas countries.

As we knew it would. Cameron should never have suggested it and therefore should be vilified in the history books for causing irreperable damage to the nation, just to quell internal party disputes

Although Brexit has had an impact on our GDP. I feel people often conflate Brexit with Covid, cost of living crisis, Ukraine war and energy, assuming it’s purely Brexit which has made their quality of life decrease.

Kimi Badenough was on the radio earlier saying it was everyone else’s fault it had all turned to shit. She gave the Tories 10/10 for Brexit

  16. Lmao is anyone seriously surprised?? This was obvious from the very beginning.

  17. This is the most r/unitedkingdom post I have ever seen. A biased poll posted on the independant with a title that doesn’t even match what is discussed in the article. Do better, people.

    In other news….

Bears have been found to be defecating in the woods

    Pope attends Catholic mass regularly

Brexit is the gift which keeps on taking.

  19. Only for now. One day soon I’ll be retired and rich when those Brexit benefits kick in!!!

I thought all the Poles were going back to Poland, how is there a new one?

The indecisiveness was the problem.. not brexit.

Clean break, low taxes attract buisness, but no.. that did not happen.

Shoulda stayed in Europe and gave hundreds of billions of pounds a month to random countries for no reason. Definitely woulda been better off

  23. ThatBlokeYouKnow on

Brexit has nothing to do with it, if we had remained we would have people saying remaining has made everything worse.

It was 10 years ago get over it. Stranger things hadn’t started yet. Some people were still using mp3 players.
