It seems like there’s allot of green, but it’s actually mostly China, Iran and Russia lol

    2. can someone elaborate why hes so bad? I havent found a source that explains this properly

    3. Now you know why people outside of reddit and twitter don’t actually care what was done. The politicians in those countries will either not say anything, or just go „The use of force was extreme and we call for restraint on all sides“ while secretly not caring at all what happens to Maduro and his illegal government

    4. trtmrtzivotnijesmrt on

Of course Serbia recongized him. Vucic is gonna try to do this as well after elections when he looses, mark my words.

    5. Alright if they refuse to recognize it who in their eyes is the president then

    6. And the solution is a foreign country rectifying it? Man, the US did a good one in WW2 by helping the effort, but since then, only crap. Truly hope the country falls apart.

    7. Did you know two things can be true at once?

      Eg.

      1) Maduro is likely not the legitimate president of Venezuela

      2) No country should invade any other country

    8. Final-Course2506 on

Morroco doesn’t recognize, but Western Sahara does?

How does this country even work? It has it’s own government and everything?

Let’s go, it started with the lies to justify another war! Let’s go army of IDIOTS believing propaganda that gets every day sloppier and more repetitive!

    10. Look up the map of spheres of influence. Russia, Iran, and China got too close to Venezuela. That became a threat to the U.S., the same way Ukraine was to NATO and Taiwan likely is next. Don’t be surprised if this also gives India and other powers cover to project more influence. A multipolar world means every major and regional power controls its own sphere. Maduro just met for three hours with the Chinese special envoy Xi sent to Caracas. Is that envoy still there, watching all of this from the front row? The PLA was too weak to protect its client. Russia and Putin were too weak too. The Venezuelan people already voted Maduro out. Trump just helped give it a shove. No one cares about international law arguments that only get pulled out to defend dictators. This is about Russia, Iran, and China being too close. In a multipolar world, every great power carves out its piece. People don’t want to hear that, but that’s what’s happening. Shouting won’t stop it. Power, human nature, and how states actually operate always lead to the same result.

It amazes how many reddit warriors actually believe Maduro is good or innocent, or that majority of Venezuelans like him.. so far from the truth. He is as evil as Putin.

Even so, we don’t condone the attack on a fellow Latin American country.

Who cares? Saudis/UAE didn’t have any elections and everyone chill about them.

    14. confidentlyfish on

If it’s fine for a country that doesn’t recognise elections of another to intervene, I don’t see why the imperial core supports Ukraine. It’s one of the reasons for the start of the military operation in 2022.

    15. Some spanish ministers from the communist party recognized Maduro „““victory“““

    16. Affectionate_Bee6434 on

The judge what happened is way too early. I have a good feeling that people of Venezuela will miss the times when Maduro was the President but hopefully I am wrong.

Yeah but Owen Jones and Diane Abbott promised us they were free and fair

      It’s all about the oil.

No way does anyone think that the US cares for Venezuelans and is there to save democracy.

    19. NotEvilCaster on

You know it’s bad when almost all other South American countries are against haha.

    20. IllustratorPresent80 on

Oh look, more propaganda to rationalize the US doing whatever the hell it wants

    21. I dont think the map is accurate if Western Sahara and Morocco are both on this map voting separately. No source?

    22. Irrelevant. It’s not the first time the land of the free applies something that doesn’t resemble freedom at all. I didn’t like what maduro was doing, but there are other interests behind this. It feels like the US these days are the self interested friend that will smile to you while stabbing you on the back

    23. Fun-Will5719 on

Maduro did not win, nor the first nor this last election. Everyone knows that here.

    24. Background_Rule_2483 on

It’s a pretty predictable lineup of countries offering their support. The usual suspects showing up just reinforces how isolated this „victory“ really is on the world stage. You can almost hear the diplomatic eye-rolling from everyone else.

    25. What reddit has shown me, if anything, is just how confidently ignorant people are about world politics.

    26. thebigglercomplex on

Redditor socialists sitting in their nice comfy homes in the west thinking they know better than the Venezuelan people.

    27. TheLunaLovelace on

Anything to justify illegal and pointless military campaigns as long as they’re started by the US, right?
