Let’s hope the far right doesn’t manage to get power and mess it all up.

Now more than ever—after the U.S. strikes in Venezuela—Europe must stop hesitating.
To stand firm against pressure from Russia, navigate an unpredictable Usa, and prepare for a potential China–Taiwan crisis, Europe needs unity with balls!

The downside would be that a united EU would be significantly easier to bribe/ lobby.
Brussel is already being besieged by lobbyists, but the structure of the EU makes it less effective since the individual countries have to vote on it as well.
Washington is what this would look like in practice.

Using the US coup in Venezuela as justification for „United states of Europe“ seems like a pretty big stretch.

Yes and No!
Europe and the EU bonding together is a strong and necessary survival mechanism in the rough realities of the 21 century.
The EU being dominated by (on individual level fine but on societal level) non sensical ideals is also true.

And deal with the likes of Or an? No, thanks, but no. I’m as pro European Union as can be, but I’m against federalization.
I’d like a joint army, though.

Putin’s plan to divide and conquer NATO is going according to plan.
80 years of Cold War and Russia wins with nothing more than internet trolls and bots.

That would be cool. Will we have also shared medicare in this case? For example for romanians, paying taxes in Romania and getting free medicare in Austria for example? Will that happen under united states.of europe?

Maybe a bit off topic, but I’m pretty sure Trump will try to pull off something similar in Greenland – a military operation to establish US control, possibly timed to coincide with America’s 250th birthday. The rules-based order is definitely dead. Federalization may not be the solution, and there will surely be a lot of skepticism around it, but Europe cannot afford to be at the mercy of the US.
