    1. Three days into the new year and we’ve already had regime change effected

    2. Regime change by the United States has never worked well in the past 50 years.

Again, Maduro isn’t a saint, but this is still a blatant violation of another country’s sovereignty.

Again, it’s fascinating how MAGA wanted us to stay out of this but have completely forgotten about “America First” now

    3. AdEarly5710 on

I can’t wait for MAGA’s mental gymnastic filled explanation on how this is justifiable

Americas truly has become the villain of the world, hasn’t it?

    4. Trump kidnapped the leader of another country, using Law Enforcement in America to do it. That’s not a minor thing.

This means that’s it – we have a dictator. Not America – all of you too. You all have a dictator. Your borders mean nothing. Our laws are global.

    5. so we’re just capturing foreign heads of state now (regardless of claims to legitimacy)?

So, full on regime change. Except this is going to cause an even bigger power vacuum than Baghdad in 2003 and is going to lead to a lot of internal bloodshed in Venezuela.

Will FIFA be asking for their peace prize back?

Remember all those times we intervened in South America and it worked out?

Oh right, because it never has. Trump trying to justify an oil grab and a distraction from Epstein files, piece of fucking shit.

    8. This is insane. None of America’s NATO allies are going to condone this, and it puts yet another huge fracture between the Western countries who need to be united against Russia.

Trump is speedrunning destroying NATO and America’s soft power around the world. Putin couldn’t ask for a better friend in the White House.

Wonder how FIFA is feeling about that peace prize now?

Oh wait that was a blatant bribe.

    10. Crazy. This happens when you present Trump with coloured chart of how much oil reserves Venezuela has.

This is truly insane stuff. Remember when they said Harris would drag us into a war?

Well. He opened up a humongous can of worms. They’ll moralize outta this like they did with Saddam.

But this is the best possible thing that could have happened immediately following the strike. I just hope further blood isn’t spilled.

Venezuelans deserve liberation – not new American overlords.

    13. Just kidnapping heads of state now. This is the most unhinged shit I’ve ever heard of

    14. The Venezuelan military definitely betrayed Maduro. Trump isn’t competent enough to pull something like this as quick as it happened, and Maduro doesn’t seem like the type of person who would sacrifice himself to stop his people from being bombed.

    15. We will fly in and kidnap Maduro, but for all the deaths from oxyz nothing happens to the Sacklers, got it

    16. BoulderFalcon on

Ok so the president, without congressional approval, bombed another country we were not at war with and kidnapped their leader. Now watch as the „party of law and order“ backs him. Those must be some Epstein Files.

    17. This has to be the end of his Presidency. Launching a full scale war and capturing Maduro without any input from Congress is psycho shit.

Also RIP to all the “nothing ever happens” folks.

    18. Call it what it is, the us has kidnapped the sovereign leader of another country

    19. orcinyadders on

Hey. At least Trump is giving the press briefing from mar a lago tomorrow morning and not the White House. Because what the actual fuck is happening right now.

    20. lifeat24fps on

What now? We spend 2 decades, trillions of dollars and probably countless American lives trying to “stabilize” Venezuela. We’re notoriously TERRIBLE at this.
