    1. Submission statement:

*Politico* poll shows how Trump has dominated not just the news, but also non-Americans‘ views of their own leaders. European respondents rate Trump as far more decisive than Merz, Macron, and Starmer; Canadians think Carney is stronger than Trump 60/40.

I presume the European leaders are aware of this (whether they see the survey data or not), thus their varied attempts to engage with Trump over the past year. There isn’t much evidence of this helping their domestic popularity so far. But I suspect that the Ukraine war is the real overhang here for Europe; Canadians just aren’t affected by it the way the French/Germans/British are. Besides the humanitarian and geopolitical benefits, Western European leaders will likely see a significant jump in their popularity when/if the war ends, **regardless of what happens to Ukraine itself**.

Quotes from the December 2025 article:
      >Trump’s return as U.S. president is far more significant for voters in Germany, France and the U.K. than the election of their own national leaders, according to respondents to the first international POLITICO Poll.

      >The researchers found that Europeans broadly shared Trump’s view that their leaders were weak, at least in comparison to him. They rated Trump as more “strong and decisive” than their own leader, by 74 percent to 26 percent in Germany; 73 percent to 27 percent in France; and 69 percent to 31 percent in the U.K. Canada was again the notable exception, with 60 percent saying Carney is stronger and more decisive compared to Trump, and only 40 percent saying the reverse.

      Politico is owned by a far-right, anti-Eu, pro-AfD and pro-US Billionaire.

Why they haven’t yet banned is beyond me.

Looooool. This is complete and utter nonsense from a far right rag. People here absolutely hate Trump and our opinion about America in general has bein plummeting like a rock.

    4. He may have dominated, but not in a positive way. Living Europe you would have to be an imbecile to cheer for America first.

The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot. 50:54 …The Germans covered it up. And so did we…And his ideas continued to do all the damage they could possibly do without him…What he stood for was unstoppable. It was a costume, all part of a plan. The monster lived on. Now you know. Are you happy? I always did exactly what they said.

Reminds me of the present. Peace.

While a poll is hardly relevant where geopolitics is concerned, the conclusion is nevertheless accurate as it is pedestrian.
