Not very surprising looking at the immigration restrictions and targeting of highly educated industries when recruiting people from India.
They took our jerbs!
> German workers earned a median gross income of €4,177 ($4,900) a study published on Friday showed — more than €1,200 less than Indian employees.
I mean, is that really surprising? Like this compares apples and oranges imo. The „German median“ includes all the minimum wage jobs that most Indians aren’t even allowed to work because they never would get a visa for it. So … yeah … not really surprising Indians have a better median.
I bet Americans have an even higher median income in Germany.
Based on the Indians I know, that is even a low number. I know 3-4 Indians who earn over 100k eur netto and the average netto being around 70k
DW also reported (in Portuguese language) in December 2024 that average salary of Brazilians in Germany is above that of Germans: https://amp-dw-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/amp.dw.com/pt-br/renda-mediana-de-brasileiros-na-alemanha-supera-a-de-alem%C3%A3es/a-71181875?amp_gsa=1&_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQIUAKwASCAAgM%3D#amp_tf=Von%20%251%24s&aoh=17673792908480&csi=1&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dw.com%2Fpt-br%2Frenda-mediana-de-brasileiros-na-alemanha-supera-a-de-alem%25C3%25A3es%2Fa-71181875
Oh no but how will I now create a stereotype online that they accept low paying jobs and are totally messing up the job market and pay.
Sounds like good news. Many qualified Indians coming to Germany is something to be grateful for.
Aren’t Indian the highest earning immigrants in almost everywhere? That includes usa, Europe, middle east, etc.
Does this include only full-time jobs?
This shit gets posted every few months. It’s not necessary to be a genius to understand that all of them come here with at least a bachelor degree and work experience. Most of the Indian coworkers that I have encountered are smart and hardworking, although I find their Akzent is difficult to understand.
I sometimes feel that posts such as this get posted to gas lit or as a rage bait.
Anti immigration rage bait for who doesn’t know the full context…
I mean, you need a higher income for the blue card…
Yet they face racism on almost a monthly basis. Not just from Western Europeans, but also Eastern Europeans for some weird reason.
I’m here to bring the average down *cries in PhD student*
