    1. > Stephen Colbert capped off his 2025 with a video appearance on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper, where the former asked the late night host to tell viewers about the “major lesson” he learned during the year. Colbert’s 2025 was defined by CBS canceling “The Late Show.”

      > “So much has happened in the last year of your life,” Cohen said during the telecast in a nod to Colbert’s cancellation. “I am curious what you left last year having learned… what is the major lesson you learned? It’s not a controversial question.”

      > “Don’t trust billionaires,” Colbert said and then immediately started laughing. “They don’t get rich by finding that money on the side of the road, brother!”

There is no such thing as an ethical billionaire. People down the line had to be screwed in order for the people up the line to make that amount of money.

Should outright state “don’t trust millionaires” either. Both are absolute scum, and only got their wealth by hurting others. Nobody gets that rich through good will.

Colbert is filthy stinking rich compared to the average american.

It’s absolutely wild to me that this country is controlled by billionaires telling millionaires how you should feel and people actually listen to them.

Jesse Watters and the like don’t give a crap about you. They have no values, no morals, no backbone, and are reading from scripts that a billionaire gave them. They just want to fill their pockets and have a seat at the cool kids table. Stop listening to them.

Late night hosts are supposed to entertain, not push their own agenda.

      Be like Johnny!

Yeah they get rich by stealing everyone else’s money. And resources.

Wow what a working class hero! Steven Colbert is worth $80 million and his lowest comp in the last 10 years was $6m a year back in 2015-2018. After that he made about $15 million a season.

So you gonna trust him, a guy who literally just talks for a living while making ridiculous amounts of money, but not “the billionaires” who actually employ people and build innovative (and sometimes life saving) products that raise everyone’s quality of life. Oh boy.

I mean if they actually did find that money on the side of the road then you would have to wonder where it came from. It’s not much better than the way most billionaires earn their money.

sure are a lot of butthurt adjectivenamenumbers in here who want you to conflate a self-made man like Colbert’s wealth with that of a billionaire’s, who are 100X wealthier than Colbert

    11. According to rich people, poor people need to give up the things that might give them pleasure in their lives. Giving up your coffee or buying a video game won’t make you rich.

    12. He says this like he’s not richer than everyone else who watches him. Do you instantly turn evil the second you become a billionaire? He just says what people want to hear. Everyone hates billionaires simply because they have more money than them; talking shit about billionaires is the easiest way to get applause lol

    13. And he earned every penny of his 75 million by? Skill and deal making can cause wealth. Now we just need to figure out how to tax the slippery ones.

This narrative is so yawn-inducing. We get it. You all say this same shit daily. 😩🤣

Wasn’t miss Taylor Swift just on the show a couple weeks ago? „Oh no no not THAT billionaire. I meant those other *unethical* ones“
