      People need studies to realize this stuff? Anyone who believed they didn’t feel pain being boiled alive didn’t want to believe it or is just dim. Whether or not you care is one thing, but this is a whole other topic.

      Giving a fuck about boiling crabs is peak human privilege. How privileged does a person have to be that this nonsense becomes a focal point in their life. Won’t someone think of the poor delicious sea bugs! Absolutely ridiculous.

      ETA: I don’t take any of you seriously, you all had bacon for breakfast. Go ahead, be mad, none of you are serious people, all of you have brain damage. I also think cultures that eat dogs should be left alone. Go ahead people of earth, eat whatever animals you want. I bet dolphin tastes amazing and would love to try it along side foie gras and monkey brains while wearing a chinchilla coat and alligator boots. There is not a single moral issue with farming and consuming animals or fish or whatever. Personally I wouldn’t eat a human, but that’s just me, I’m not the boss of anyone and I don’t judge.

      People who stick probes into crabs flesh and snap their limbs / douse them in solvents for REPEATED similar results to publish „don’t boil lobsters, it’s mean“

      I don’t eat much of either but it seems pretty straightforward to stab the brain just before tossing them in the water. Anyone who really thinks the pain is part of the flavour is just plain weird

      Do a study on how fast they die in boiling water. Just cause they feel pain doesn’t necessarily mean that boiling them is inhumane. They probably die within seconds. It’s also not super economically viable to require hand killing every single crab that gets cooked at a processor, it would substantially increase the price at market.

      Eh, people are so divorced from the farm/sea.

      They’re totally fine with the conditions that would count as concentration camps via factory farming if Chickens were sentient but can’t stomach doing it themselves. If you’re gonna eat meat, especially factory farmed meat at least be consistent about it.

      I always thought its already universally accepted that any living being probably has some kind of pain response, but we also choose to simply ignore this fact because of „money“ and ease of mind?
      I mean nobody believed the phrase „nah they dont feel it.“ right?
