Der Januar ist nicht der erste Monat des Jahres, sondern der März, in dem die Frühlings-Tagundnachtgleiche beginnt.

While everyone’s busy celebrating a Roman paperwork holiday on January 1st, I can’t help but notice how disconnected it is from nature itself. Long before Caesars and calendars, time was tracked by the Moon and the Sun, 13 lunar cycles, not 12 arbitrary months. That’s where the turtle comes in. Many Indigenous traditions recognize the 13 scutes on a turtle’s shell as a living calendar, each one representing a full moon in a solar year. The real reset happens at the Spring Equinox, when day and night balance and life actually begins again, making March the true first month. Winter isn’t a beginning, it’s a pause, a time we rest and get ready for a reset at the Spring Equinox, th true New Year, but sure… pop the champagne while the Earth is still asleep 🐢🌕🌺

A lunar cycle is actually ~29.53 days. A solar year is ~365.2422 days long.
      365.2422/29.53**≈**12.3685
There should not be 13 months in a year if going based on lunar cycles.

Umm. That’s only the northern hemisphere. So should we have two different new years?

The word „cross“ occurs 28 times in the KJV Bible, as does the word „confess“ and  „thanksgiving“. The word „sacrifice“ occurs 218 times. Who is the One in the middle of the cross?

      13 is twelve plus One.

    5. Couple things.

How is a lunar cycle natural, but a solar cycle is not natural?

Also, the moon neither orbits the earth nor rotates upon its axis at a rate the cleanly aligns with the orbit and rotation of the earth: hence why Chinese new year is always on a different day. A full moon, or any phase of the moon, will not consistently happen on the same day of the same month, every day of the year. I’m not saying I would have an issue with a calender like this, but marking the year by revolutions of the earth around the sun versus revolutions of the moon around the earth are two different systems.

And then there’s the reality that numerology has no factual basis or empirical evidence to support its allegations. Apophenia hits hard.

Where I will agree: the Papacy is full of shit and Gregorian calender is not above harsh critique and amendments (or being thrown out, all together; if theres a better alternative, then why not?)consistent with the changing times.

    6. To me it’s insane to subvert the natural 28 day cycle humans have always known, in favor of one that deliberately breaks it to increase reliance on the church instead.

The bible also points out that every „New Moon“ is the beginning of every month (13 months).
