Yes, because the appropriate punishment for drug smuggling is the death penalty. (/s because we live in a hellscape devoid of reason)

They claim they’re drug boats but there’s even more people downtown doing the fenti-fold than ever before. The US is killing fisherman.

Republicans when 9 million dollars goes to possible Somali daycare fraud: 😡🔥😠💢

Republicans when 30+ million dollars has been spent blowing up fishing boats that are maybe smuggling drugs in the Gulf of Mexico: 🥹😃🤤🎊🙌

Dumbest human beings to ever walk the planet.

    4. So, I’m guessing it would be okay, legally and morally for another country, say, Canada, to fire missles upon US fishing and lobstering boats off the coast of Maine and their ports of origin because they suspect they’re smuggling illegal drugs into their country with no evidence, survivors or witnesses? /s

I can’t believe no one has posted how the coast guard has been chasing a oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela for 10 days and they haven’t seized the ship bc the oil cruiser started painting Russian flags on it.

And no this is not sarcasm lmao.

      Nope not killed.

Murdered by the U.S. military. Without due process.

Even those that committed these crimes, will get due process

It feels so helpless to watch the U.S government use the military and my tax payer money to commit murder for no reason other than to distract from all the other crimes it’s currently embroiled in.

Imagine the service men and women? I’d be physically ill… they’re just an extension of a mad man… and all on the world stage to see.

We’ve fallen so god damned far.

American soldiers just casually murdering civilians in international waters using their military.

      War without congressional approval.

Lawless nation run by a criminal.

    9. ProofMarsupial4840 on

Why is no other nation calling them out? That’s what has me intrigued.

    10. Extrajudicial killing to distract from the Epstein files. Are we winning yet?

    11. CompanyLow8329 on

Lethal force like this should only be used when strictly necessary to protect life, stopping contraband is too indirect to justify any of this.

IF these ships actually have anything to do with contraband. For all we know, they are just random civilians they are firing upon.

This should be a law enforcement problem.

There is zero proof that the cartels are waging a war that needs this level of an armed military conflict response.

Extrajudicial killing is taking the place of arrest, adjudication, proof and evidence.

Arresting these people allows you to generate far more intelligence to break down networks, financiers and destroy shadowy logistics networks. You can’t do anything when you destroy all the evidence like this.

It’s completely counterproductive and it’s just meant to create a useless body count.

Why not just board the boat and arrest them and bring them to trial why they keep killing them. This is inhumane

    13. donkeykong64123 on

The US labeled cartels as terrorist. Therefore it’s legal to use lethal force.

Now lots of people are asking why they don’t get due process. The problem with that is:

      1. They’d need to be extradited from the country of origin. Venezuela ain’t doing that

      2. Even if extradited and given due process as per US law, evidence is complicated. They can drop their contraband in the ocean before being boarded, and there’d be no evidence to sentence them.

      3. The whole process is incredibly costly and time consuming to taxpayers.

Lastly, no, they are not fishing vessels. The US government has posted videos, and they are speed boats. Speed boats with no fish equipment, no fishes, no nets. Rather equipped with extra fuel, crates, and powerful engines to speed through international waters.

    14. >In total, there have been **more than 30 strikes on vessels** as part of the Trump administration’s „war on drugs“ with **more than 110 people killed** since the US carried out its first attack on a boat in international waters on 2 September.

      >The **US has provided no evidence that the boats it has targeted are carrying drugs** but in its most recent post, Southern Command again insisted that „intelligence confirmed **the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes** and engaged in narco-trafficking“.

What the actual fuck is going on? I’m sure there are many fucking routes for narco-trafficking. This is absolutely insane.

It’s extra crazy because even if these are some of the hardest, meanest drug smugglers on earth (and not some hapless fishermen or people just transporting various benign goods), resolving suspicion with a missile and not an arrest and court is unhinged. And it’s all being done unilaterally by the executive branch. US foreign policy and military has been overtly evil since I was old enough to begin to understand it, so I shouldn’t be surprised, but it’s still as shockingly abominable as the first time I saw this sort of thing.

    16. Ok_Corner5873 on

Surely these attacks are happening in international waters, Which means they are breaking international treaties and committing murder against both human rights and maritime laws. They need to be held accountable for the deaths or provide concrete evidence that the USA was under threat and it was self defence.

The last boat was full of marijuana not coming to America I can’t wait for Trump to get what he deserves

    18. I’m not american. But I refuse to feel bad for drug dealers. If you still feel that they are human beings, it’s because you, or your country, has never TRULLY really suffered them.

So, sorry to say so and without trying to offend anyone, your opinion does not matter. Drug dealers have long stopped being humans. The social contract was broken. There is no reciprocity of obligations and rights. I refuse to feel bad for such animals. Nor to to be shamed by innocent do-goodeers that believe doing nothing will fix everything.

The world, but specially the law-abiding world, needs Trump. Because its a reminder to those criminals elements that the more they push, a reaction will eventually come. I may not like Trump very much, but I sure hope he makes the drug dealers business suffer during his term. Really suffer.
