    1. Ohhhh some conservatives are going to lose their absolute shit over this and I am going to very much enjoy laughing at them

    2. This should make non-Muslims reflect on just how ridiculous and insulting it is to use magic books as political props in general. Right?…right?!

If any maga fuck complains, it is no different than do so on a Bible. I’d rather see all do it on the constitution.

    4. Pshhh… if I ever run for and win office, I’m swearing on the biggest unabridged dictionary I can find.

    5. tapdancinghellspawn on

Oh hell yeah. MAGA is going to go apeshit over this. Watching them lose their minds is gonna be fun.

    6. I never understood why some people care so much about that aspect, that it should be a bible, the important part is the oath, why would you want anyone to swear on something they do not believe in, that would make the oath worthless.

Hehehe. Let the Sharia hysteria begin! This is such a gift for Fox News – they’ll be able to dedicate at least a week on this topic, thankfully keeping their viewers too busy to catch any of the Jack Smith news or the latest Epstein details.

Oohhh I know they mad LMAO. Good for Mamdani though. Happy for him to win the election and be sworn in, in a way that respects his culture and beliefs. A crucial moment at such a bleak time.

    9. Since there is no god and both books are made up, it makes no difference. If it makes you happy, go for it. Who cares.

WTF else would he use? Do these idiots really think he’d use a Bible. I guarantee you they’d lose their damn minds if he did. They just want an excuse to bitch.

I mean yeah this seems like a pretty milquetoast thing for a Muslim to do

This makes me happy. I’m not religious in any way, but he is and it’s nice that he’s being given a chance to swear his oath to his own god instead of one forced upon him by tradition.

Can’t wait to see this on repeat at the gym on all the Fox News tv’s for the boomers.

    14. Oh I didn’t even think about that, but yeah that makes sense. There’s noything *requiring* it to be a Bible (or even anything at all), so of course he wouldn’t use one.

    15. Like most other religious books, this is a terrible one, but since everyone is using a terrible one, this one is also fine i guess.

Maybe politicians should swear in by signing a document saying they have read and understand the Constitution. Take religion out of it.

    17. Never liked the Bible being used. So I’m not a hypocrite when I say being sworn in by the Quran

I would love it if someone was sworn in with *On The Origin of Species* by Charles Darwin.

Just to see their brains explode

I don’t think any holy book should be used, instead it should be the constitution because at the end of the day it’s about improving our country not our religion or agenda.

Can’t wait for people who live in some backwater rural town in a southern state to blow a gasket over this

    21. Ghostdefender1701 on

That popping sound you hear is the heads of Republicans on Fox News heads exploding.

I would like to be sworn in on the picture book I drew in third grade about the cat that makes friends with everyone in the farm. My mom still has it

    23. OldGaffer66 on

Well, it’s about as evil as The Bible, so what’s all the fuss about?

    24. All religious text should be banned from all government proceedings.  All

Can you pick any book to be sworn in on?

      I would choose Fahrenheit 451 or 1984

If I feel funny a copy of the 1st vol of the manga Death Note

    26. Critically32 on

This great thing is that it means exactly the same thing as a bible. Jack shit.

    27. SadhuSalvaje on

      Cool

The preacher in Fried Green Tomatoes got sworn into court on a copy of Moby Dick…

It only matters that you respect the thing you swear on

    28. AntonioLovesHippos on

Politicians should be sworn in with Thomas Paine’s Common Sense. It’s Americas only spiritual book.
