It’s not hard for me as a millennial to see why Gen Z has such a hard time
The world turned to shit after I graduated high school. For these guys though, the world has been turning to shit since they were little kids.
I’m not sure if I’d really expect the far right to improve their lives at all, but I don’t think it’s difficult to see where the turn to radicalization comes from.
I don’t know if some of them even got a chance to see what else was going on before their social media would have been filtering their world and placing them into their new bubble.

The fact that right-wingers are moving their support to Gavin Newsom should tell you everything you need to know about Newsom. A lot of us have been pointing out he is more right-leaning/centrist…….and how running someone like that is NOT the way to win elections, as history has been proving. Seriously, the guy welcomed on fascists to his podcast more than once and agree with them multiple times and has the same views as the right on the unhoused and trans people (despite what he claims). He is more right than left, if you actually deep dive.
Please, let us not let this man get past the primaries. Don’t let the DNC astroturfing fool you, and there is A LOT of that happening, most people don’t actually like the guy and it’s the media/Dem elite pushing him. If Newsom is the nominee then the Dems will fail again, they just don’t seem to learn.
EDIT: Also, nobody better give me shit and say „Well you gotta vote for him or we get MAGA“. Bitch, we literally aren’t picking the nominee for ***AT LEAST*** another year. I am beyond tired of people acting like he is the nominee when I don’t think they even know when the primaries are held for president in their state. Now is the time to criticize the shit candidates and hope the DNC actually fucking listens to voters for once instead of shoving another candidate down our throats we don’t actually like…..but them declining to release their 2024 autopsy makes me think they won’t learn, so strap in for more MAGA!

JD Vance is the Hillary Clinton of the Republican Party.
Multiple people (Klepper, Maddow, etc) have argued that most young men are on team MAGA because of the vibes and image, not the policy. If this is the case, we’ve got a lot of work to do as a country.

I personally find this hilarious. The right eats itself.
Any support they give will dry up the moment Newsom gets the nomination. Their puppet masters are terrified that someone who will push for real change and force corporations/the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes might get the nomination so they’re going all in on supporting the most likely nominee from the corporate wing of the Democratic Party using the lie of swing voters deciding the election to do so. Don’t bank on Newsom or anyone else winning an election because they won over disillusioned Republicans, it’s a bullshit strategy that simply doesn’t work but does provide Dems with cover to ignore their base and instead push policy as dictated by the donors.
Much as I’d like this to be new and newsworthy, I really wish Reddit would stop allowing Newsweek posts. The publication is a shell of what it used to be. Now it’s just clickbait with a fancy name.

I have such a bad feeling about the next election. A corporate loving Dem will win or we end up with another Rep from hell. Both will bring nothing of use to us.
