“As part of its response, 700Credit is offering affected individuals 12 months of free identity protection and credit monitoring through TransUnion. “
I ain’t American but they’re basically saying we screwed you over for life but here’s the solution for 12 months only but then you’re on your own after that.
Also didn’t musk and his team of young programmers basically steal the identities of all Americans without any real issue. Where’s that data being stored!

Remember in the 70s and 80s when the Social Security office practicly screamed not to use SSN for anything financial related? They predicted all of this because SSN has no security and wasn’t designed for this.
But stupid religion and mark of the beast fought hard against a new secure national card.

So we’re just casually leaking millions of SSNs now and calling it “a breach” instead of total institutional failure.

There should be a law banning use of SSN for private companies

I thought all of the fines and prison time for the executives last time this happened would’ve made them act more carefully with our data.

Oh boy I bet my shit got leaked again. Neato. My favorite part is one of the three credit places REFUSED to freeze it for me because I don’t have a credit card. So apparently not having a credit card makes you „immune“ to having your identity stolen.

SSNs have been compromised so badly that the IRS considered reissuing them to all Americans. This is not news

Is this another class action check coming my way? It’s the only reason I check my spam folder and also make money off of my personal data.
