>Iran’s government said the move was a response to Canada’s decision to designate the country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a „terrorist entity“ in June 2024. The designation meant Ottawa would officially treat the IRGC, part of Tehran’s armed forces, as a terrorist group.

But just the Navy. They’re hoping the Army accepts their birthday invite and brings a friendship bracelet.

As an RCN vet who served 22 years and deployed more times than I care to remember, I find some of the comments here pretty offensive, even more so than Iran declaring the RCN a terrorist organization.
Just remember the reason our navy is small is because Canadians don’t want to spend a lot of money on our military, so before you start throwing stones, just take a second to reflect on your voting history.
BTW, the RCN is a well respected, small to midsize navy that can integrate into a NATO task group almost seamlessly.

„We designate your organization that brutalizes woman for showing their hair and kills protestors a terrorist organization.“
„Well then we designate your navy that hasn’t killed anyone in 80 years and hasn’t independently blockaded anyone ever a terrorist organization.“
I suppose it’s an attempt at the who „if everyones a terrorist then nobody is“ sort of thing.

Right. Next they’ll target Doctors Without Borders or Santa Claus.
Has the Canadian Navy even ever been down there to do anything?
