      Here’s a TLDR (my interpretation though): We imposed a contract because we could and we thought it would be politically expedient.

      In Smith’s defense, they are the exact same reasons that any government imposes a contract.

      In Smith’s case, I think they misjudged the political expediency part.

    2. What has been breathtaking is how gutless the Alberta Teachers became, all of a sudden just sitting down and accepting imposed terms.

      I guess they won’t be a labour movement much longer, because anyone who does that loses their reason for being. No one will pay dues for that.
